dental school

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Seriously, what kind of response are you looking for? If you like dentistry, then go to dental school; if you want to do medicine, go to medical school. I'm not sure why you would ask this.

What should one do if applied to both dental and med schools and only accepted to dental but thinking might have a better shot for med applying earlier with scores from last august?
Start dental (i like it) and dont' look back
Defer and apply to med meanwhile
or Start dental and apply to med at the same time

Problem is not sure if i really even want to do med aside from the greater prestige and degree, but i like teeth and the work of dentists. Have no clue what kind of med i'd specialize in and feel like it would be harder. 😕
Getting into med though would be like conquering a great challenge.

Don't go to med school. There.

It sounds like you really want to go to med school for all the right reasons. 🙄 Have fun spending another year applying so you can do what you don't want to do!

i've never given anyone a yes or no response before .. but i gotta tell you .. no, don't go into medicine.

greater prestige and degree? not worth it.
conquering a great challenge? after you "conquer" and get into med school, then what? i have a feeling that you're going to go to dental school and then apply to medical school just to say that you got in, but then continue with dental school since that is what you enjoy .. i'm assuming this because you stated that you're considering medicine for prestige and nothing more.

I have been reading SDN for a while now. Just signed on as new member because of G0S2 reply. Don't go to med school? This coming from phd/med school/defer/don't defer/what do I do?

I wouldn't cast the first stone.

I say apply to med school, even if it is for the challenge of getting in.

The defer or not defer is whether to finish a research PhD to then pursue an MD for a research/academic medicine career in hem/onc where a PhD will help. They go hand in hand. Dentistry or medicine? In all honesty, it seems as though locaboca hasn't completely thought it through. The only reasons to consider medicine are prestige and degree??
