Hi all. Have a few questions regarding dermatology...this could probably be applicable to any speciality though
1.) I know that there are med students that began research in their current specialty interests since way back in undergrad.....how were you, as a premed or med student, able to do this? did you find a Ph.D. or an M.D.to research with?
2.) Are there typically any dermatologists that are willing to do research with undergrad students professing an interest in their specialty?
3.) would undergrad research, in dermatology or any other specialty field, come in handy when applying for the match? I know it's forever on your record, but would it be significant?
4.) Also, is it helpful to have research done in a specific field and that field only when applying to med school, or would it put you at a disadvantage.
Any answers appreciated. Would also love any input from others interested/experienced in derm. Thanks so much everyone
