Hi everyone,

So I've applied this year (second batch) to 14 schools. The way I picked the schools was to choose the schools based on whether they accept CC, in-state/oos ratio, and if it was a city I was willing to live in (of course taking into consider my GPA and DAT range). I'm from a big city and so I only ended up choosing schools located in the urban areas because almost everyday I would have to drive to small town or not-so-urban areas to work and I just wasn't happy being there because there was not much to do. What I realize now is that by limiting myself, I have less chance at getting into dental school. I'm now thinking if I should add more schools. All my close friends are telling me to add more schools, but it just costs so much and I don't know if it'll be worth it because it might be late. My oGPA is 3.42 and sGPA is 3.39, DAT AA/TS/PAT 22/22/21. I applied to UCSF, UCLA, UOP, Western, USC, UNLV, UIC, UDM, VCU, UB, NYU, Columbia, New Jersey, Harvard (seriously this was just for fun at the time, but now I regret wasting my money because I could have spent it on a school I had a real shot at). Should I add more schools and is it too late now to add more schools?

Also, there is something else I'm concerned about. In my personal statement, I wrote that I attended the UOP predental simulation course... and that it was one of the best dental experiences I've had. I feel like I just shot myself in the foot by mentioning UOP. I don't want other schools to not consider me because they saw that I've done some stuff at UOP and assume I want to attend there. I know I can't change anything now, but I just want some feedback. Did anyone else mention a particular dental school in their application?

Thanks everyone!

I don't think it will be that big of a deal that you mentioned UoP in your personal statement. As long as you didn't write a paragraph about UoP's simulation course, and did not base you whole dental experience to it, you should be fine.
