I understand that Chad is a great instructor and his videos help you learn. But how comprehensive were they?
In other words, do his videos cover most of what you need to know for the DAT or are there any topics that were on the DAT that his videos did not adequately cover?
Also, how similar are his practice problems to the actual DAT?
Are his quizzes representative of the questions on the actual DAT?
Also, for those who have seen both the old and new videos, are there any significant differences between the two?
How many total practice problems do you get with the videos?

ANY input would be appreciated.

Not to be a jerk....

but you should poke around and use the search function on the forums a bit...

but I enjoy his videos and from what I have read they are pretty on point for actual DAT topics as well as the question types for his quiz's. I study sometimes with a girl who has already taken the DAT and she swears his questions are straight out of the test and he gives the simplest most time efficient path to clicking on that correct answer 🙂.

Like I said if you search around and read pretty much any DAT breakdown you will find a review of Chad's.

As an ASU student, I have access to his recorded gen/org exam reviews he does during the semester. I considered being a cheapskate and just watching those. But I chose to subscribe to these versions of the videos because they are tailored to the tests and they're concise. I can get what I need in a fraction of the time. He doesn't go into stuff you're not going to need to know. He's familiar with MCAT and DAT tests and what kind of things they're just not going to ask. I also timed my subscription so I could use his physics stuff to study for my physics final. I wouldn't have gotten the A without it.

Between gen chem and ochm there are 260 practice questions. In his own little intro he stresses doing those as a minimum. But like the post before me and what others have said, they're pretty good problems he provides. If you've had gen chem and ochm, it's worth every penny I think. You don't have to look far on here to see that tons of people use the videos now (such an inexpensive and proven resource) and those who have retaken the DAT using the videos have dramatically improved their chemistry.

I'd go for it. I'd hate to walk away from the test wondering if $50 would have raised my AA a point or two.

Thanks for your responses.

Spartan22..
I have actually been "poking" around quite a bit. The main reason I use this forum is to read other peoples' breakdowns (since I have not taken mine yet). And like 99% of the people on here really enjoyed using Chad's videos. The reviews on all the breakddowns have been very positive. And I completely agree - it is like the best resource that you can get for $30. The main reason I asked the questions above is because I was wondering what his quiz questions were like. I hear people praising Chad for being a great instructor and explaining things really well, but rarely ever hear people commenting on his quiz questions and how helpful those questions were in terms of helping their preparation. I was also wondering (from people who have actually take the DAT and used the videos to prepare) if there were any topics on the actual DAT that weren't adequately addressed in the videos.
But from what you have said, it appears that I don't need to worry about this because his questions AND videos are both aligned with the DAT. Thanks for your response. That really helped.

Jeffity..
Thanks for your response. 260 questions - that's like 130 for each subject, which is like ~20 questions per topic. Is this about right? As I mentioned above, I have heard positive things about the videos, but I rarely hear people talking about the quizzes. So i was wondering how good his quiz questions were in terms of being aligned with the actual DAT. I also wanted to know (from those who have taken the DAT and used his videos) if there were anything they were tested on that was not adequately addressed in the videos. But so far, it appears that both his videos and quizzes are closely aligned with the DAT and that is good to know. (I have heard that Chad used to work for Princeton Review before joining ASU - maybe thats why he knows the MCAT and DAT really well). Just out of curiosity, have you used his old videos?

I actually just started doing all of Chad's new HD videos, taking the quizzes after each section (they are the same quizzes, new ones that match the new videos are coming out soon). The quizzes are nice just because they make sure that you are actively learning the material and give very precise explanations if you do miss one. The questions on the quizzes are typically directed at the main points of his lectures and include exceptions to rules and whatnot, they are great!

This.

The quizzes are excellent for seeing if you've learned what he's teaching. I don't think that the format of the questions is exactly like the DAT, but the content is the core of what you'll be tested on. Chad's videos won't cover the weird random stuff that you will get on one or two questions, but that's what Destroyer is for. I recommend watching Chad's videos, doing his quizzes along the way, and then following up with Destroyer.
