Disadvantaged Status

Hi SDN, im trying to answer the "Disadvantaged Status" question on my app. would the following qualify me as a disadvantaged applicant?

-family emigrated as refugees from soviet union escaping religious persecution
-3 other siblings, combined 15k/year income
-public assistance (food stamps, public housing, medicaid)
-designated HPSA
-disabled father

should my answer reflect the adversity i have faced and how i have overcome it? or should i save that for other parts of my app. thank you

I would say so. Even if your parents were highly educated in the Soviet Union, it looks like that didn’t transfer over to job prospects in the states based on what you said about federal assistance programs and income.
