Just thought I pass this on for those interested. Disney is running military promotions with pretty good deals. Here is a link...

http://bookwdw.reservations.disney....09military&CMP=VAN-WDWFY09MilitaryOfferVanity

I believe this could also be applied to current HPSP/USUHS med students...

"Activated members of the National Guard or Reservists (with orders showing active status after January 1, 2008) and active or retired members of the United States Coast Guard are also eligible to participate in this offer."

Cheers!

Great offer, but I have heard that Mickey is actually the Antichrist in disguise. Just an FYI.

Thanks! we took advantage of this the last time they had it, years ago, we plan on taking the girls this year before we PCS from here. The SeaWorld Busch Gardens offer is still going on too (it's on going anyway)

I do know that some cruiselines will offer military discount, union discount, state discount, group discount, etc. With a valid military ID, you can save about $50-250 per person, but it depends on the availability.

great...thanks a lot sethco...now i have to take my family to Disney world!

haha I got a discount at a local ski resort even though I don't have my military ID yet. I'm just like "uhh yeah I didn't know you had a military discount I would have brought my ID" 5$ off, cha-ching...

Has anyone gone to Disney as an HPSP student? If your ID card says reserve but you have done active duty orders at some point during the year, will this qualify you for the discount? I booked my room today and was told that it wouldn't be a problem, but I don't want to arrive and then not have the correct documentation.

Take your HPSP contract with you just in case. But, I was successful at Busch with just ID card and telling them I am stationed at Med School to go to school.

There are lots of military discounts out there, but many places don't advertise. I usually ask about discounts whenever I'm booking a hotel or rental car and can sometimes get the price knocked down. Anheuser-Busch allows a free one-day pass to service men and dependents at http://www.herosalute.com/.
I just graduated from NROTC and am stationed at my school over the summer while I wait for USUHS to start. We are all going to Busch Gardens to use this deal next week.

You can use your green reserve card if you show active duty service orders after 01Jan2008. I'm going this summer as an HPSP student after I return from OBLC. The park tickets have to be acquired from a base, though.

Incidentally, we were given CAC cards during our 45 day ADT rotation for OBLC. I'm pretty sure you can go onto any base or guard office and convert to a CAC card since most military web sites are migrating away from LIDs and toward CAC swipes. But I would still recommend taking orders with you to the park.

For all the busch garden's and sea world deals you just fill out the application online and bring the form to park. You don't need anything from "on base." You can get other discount tickets through the base though.
