Did you just utter the word "study" in the same sentence as "CS"?

On the morning of the test, state "I am an American medical student" in loud, clear words. They endorse your check and you walk out the side door, because the test is really only about money and keeping non-natives out anyway.

A simple "play video games" would have worked just as well.

Video Games. Seriously, I spent one hour reviewing for CS the night before in the hotel. Don't stress over it. If you have that First Aid, just look over the cases in the last part of the book.
 
Also, drape the patient. I do hate to say it, but First Aid for Step II CS is the best thing for this test. You should buy it the day before, use it carefully so that you don't mess it up, and return it the day after. You really only need to read it once, and it gives you pretty much everything you need.
 
I'm already playing video games. It was a moment of weakness...matchitis clouds the judgement. I'm alright now. Carry on.
 
Speaking of video games, i'm so tempted to get a PS3. I didn't get a 360 because I was waiting for the PS3, and now they are actually available to buy...

If only I wasn't broke. 🙁

Yeah, it looks fun too but it's so technologically inferior and I don't like the majority of the games that are made for it.
 
I think I'll wait for the price drop to get a PS3. Not looking to spend 600 dollars on something when I can already play a majority of the good games of PS2.
 
But it's got Blu-Ray. And since Sony is promoting that format, of course it will fail. Also, why pay more for a DVD?
I firmly believe that within a couple of years every movie you could ever want will be downloadable and watchable for a day on your own personal TV. Just like renting. That way, you don't have to buy them and worry about formats. Plus, I own probably 100 DVDs, but watch less than one of them per week, if 1 per month. I just don't like to watch the same thing over again usually. There are a few that I like, but most I just received or bought for the fun of it.
 
I'll probably get a 360 over the summer at some point...depending on how I make out with all my money. PS3 will be purchased...but not until after the real games come out for it (metal gear solid, final fantasy, etc.). Otherwise...my xbox with halo 2 and my ps2 with final fantasy 12, metal gear solid 3, and GT4 are giving me more than enough entertainment.
 
I can't play games that require me to concentrate. I like to drive, and then put them down. I think Dr. Mario is still the all time best game (or Tetris, since they are effectively the same). While I like the snazzy graphics and multiplayer aspects of shoot them dead (I used to play a lot of Rainbow 6 and CounterStrike in college), I just can't get into them anymore.
Maybe if I took more Strattera.
 
My gaming happens in phases. Today was the first day since December that I've played. Can't stand more than an hour at a time right now. Plus...I'm feeling the lure of the gym. That means I can stop at Best Buy and buy me some "Borat!"
 
Already picked up my copy of Borat! Waiting for the gf to get off work to watch it again with the deleted scenes!

I did push ups at home, I think that's good enough for a work out for today.
 
I was wondering where all the pre-match stress was at...and here it is. Okay, let me share in the fun or crash the party: I can log into the nrmp website from my treo (just tried it today for fun). Sooooo if they start handing out envelopes at 11am central time...........

Yah I have this. But that's what I meant by studying...reading this. I haven't yet.

Yeah, I verified this before too on my Treo. My school hands out the envelopes at noon EST, but I think it's not posted on the NRMP site until 1pm EST.

I think that's right. It's going to be a crazy week starting this Friday with all the events our class has planned. Call me crazy but I kinda feel this week is moving a little faster than the last two. Maybe there is something to this keeping yourself busy business.
 
no no....checked on nrmp website and they post at noon eastern time....so...they might post a little early and if you are further down on the envelope receiving list, you could potentially find out with your phone 🙂

You are absolutley right....I was on CCU for last month and did not stress too much about match....this week starts didactics for us (fust a few classes like acls) and now I am a wreck....my etoh consumption is now everynight....my HR is elevated all the time....

I have resorted to some very unproductive conversations lately, today infact I heard "some one I know knows someone that knows a person that may have seen the final list for x program in y specialty and thinks he or she remembers my friend so and so was #_ and should match" Do I tell that friend? I think I should stop the maddness.

Uggggggggg.....make it stop...............
 
wow...matchitis stress really hit again today for you all...maybe my finals stress should start hitting me pretty soon...or at least the quiz i have on monday

You're crazy. Then again, all I'm doing this week is sitting around in a stupid Transition to Residency class. It makes me want to chew glass.

My biggest stress now is not really a machitis stress, but kinda...trying to figure out which tinture to start with and what will be the nectar of the night
