Unfortunately, I need to worry or the M&M squad will be seeing me over the summer, which will bring about a new category of trauma.:scared:

Would that be impersonal, interpersonal, or attached trauma?..and yeah, Bilateral retinal hemorrhage sucks NJD, specially because it happens in 80% of head traumas. A good indication that Child abuse maybe taking place...😉

P.S. Tommorow is the last day of BM...bring on cell biology and immunology...those sound more fun to me

I have bilateral retinal hemorrhage and intracranial bleeding but it's not from abusive head trauma, its from hitting my head on the table every time I fall asleep while reading this defecation that they call behavioral med.

Good luck :luck:tomorrow, don't forget to not study because nothing will make sense on the exam anyways.

btw, what exactly is the hymenal opening? I'm probably in trouble for googling that on the school's internet

Come on now, NjD, I know self harm is a mechanism of distracting yourself from the unbearable pain associated with the terribly stressful state of mind elicited by BM, BUT I would suggest you learn an alternative coping strategy....Or better yet, you could see Dr. Means about this issue for some intervention 🙄

Anybody else feeling a little burned out this week? There's no way I'm the only one.

I'm exhausted, I'm starting to do weird things I usually don't do...like go to school :scared: ....whatapho weren't you surprised to see me on campus today???

What did I tell you about staying at school. You didn't even stay until night time. You probably went home and napped.

Anybody else feeling a little burned out this week? There's no way I'm the only one.

would that be an immersion burn with a circumflex injury pattern? or are you self-cutting in which case, you will probably use ciggarettes...(sorry, I couldnt help it)

Ahhhhh, I am being consumed by Biochem; it is taking over my life. I studied in the library from 12:30-midnight yesterday, and when I went to bed, I dreamt of studying biochem. Is there no escape???

Alright, where are these behavioral med grades. What happened to all this "grades are posted the same day" stuff. According to my count, we have taken five tests and not one has been posted the day of.

WOW! That's freakin crazy! & no, there is no escape IF you let it consume your life. Just try to take a break (or more) & do something else since i'm sure your brain is saturated at this point. I would suggest taking a nap, but since you even DREAM of biochem I dont know if that would be a good idea 😕

2nd years had a GI test yesterday too, so we're all anxious to get those grades. I hope they're posted by this afternoon, but I'm not holding my breath...

Our 1st semester at DMU we regularly got our grades the same day of the test. Then something happened 2nd semester last year and ever since then we've been waiting 1-2 extra days before they are posted. I think we were spoiled early on, so everytime it takes longer than a day we start to get grumpy.

Good luck on Biochem tomorrow everyone.

Bummer

I'm NOT studying in the library right now... haha (but I'm in there, somewhere)

Anyone want to make bets on the BM mean? I'm guessing 83.48 %

The winner doesn't have to show up for the biochem test! (but you get 0%)

It's sooo exciting sitting in my corner cubicle right now that I think I'd rather go right back to skinning in anatomy... I'm sooo sick of studying... this week absolutely sucks!

I'm guessing mean will be at least 85% since I think this test was slightly more doable than the first & we do have a pretty smart class.
By the way, does anyone else think we need more of those study rooms around here? they get filled up too fast!

Yep we need more study rooms and less single people "Reserving" 12-person ones with a bookbag 🙂

I think I'm gonna need some soft tissue later

i'm so tired of studying BC....:scared: does anyone know what time Wellmans opens tomorrow? Is it bad that I want some brew at 10am?

I feel ya whatdapho, I foresee a loooong weekend of football ahead of me; maybe an excursion to the anatomy lab, too.

Anyone have any idea what questions are going to be looked at for BM? I have heard several people had trouble with 30-36.

i missed 32, 34, 35, 36 and many others...we gotta fight some of these!!!

I just talked to Ms. Monsma & she told me that at least 50% of the class got numbers: 15, 32,33, 34, 35 Wrong. So, those questions are going into automatic review. Hopefully we'll get credit for those ( I actually got them all wrong!) I think I'm just glad this week is pretty much over). 😴

That is a lot! I would like to get some of those back as well. It is just awesome that this rough week is finally at an end and Oktoberfest is here! Mmmmmmm nice cold beer, there is nothing better after a long week.

Hey has everyone noticed that most bars have started carrying New Belgium Beer?!? Fat tire and Sun Shine are amazing. Colorado beer is sweet!😀😀😀

This would be phenomenal; all of those would help me except for 32.

Biochem grades are up! Quite the turnaround time.

Well, while my wife and you guys are busy working towards that Gross Anatomy exam next Friday :scared:, I have time to kill.

So I gathered those three years' worth of residency data on the DMU site and put them in an Excel file. Long ways away for "us," but good to see all years' data together. Plus, sorting by residency proves that each year is different and it all depends on the students themselves and what he/she is looking for. So saying school X didn't have many people getting into residency Y is not accurate. As we all know, DMU is a great school 👍, so there are lots of opportunity for you guys/gals. Now, being in the bottom third of the class might make it harder, so I will let you get back to your studies so that doesn't occur.

Speaking of residencies...I was talking to a fourth year and she told me that she just came back from one of her elective rotations...in Hawaii!!!..😱...man how I wish I can go an elective rotation right now...she must have learned to deal with "sunburn" accidents and beach volleyball injuries...so tough out there....lol

Don't forget whiplash from the beach babes!!!!

Anybody know if OMM lab took the whole entire period today?...I looked at the lab it seemed short...I am just wondering because I am planning on hitting up the cadaver tommorrow and any extra time would help...although I doubt that it will get out early...

well, it doesn't take the whole time but we got to practice some soft tissue techniques & then we (my partner & I) decided to thank our TA by doing some soft tissue techniques on him as well. It was actually a very short lab though. & by the way starch isn't as easy to deal w/ as you might expect- expect to be messy😱

starch...sounds messy.....what do we have to do palpate the startch?...lol

Apparently Means and Monsma weren't as kind on changing BM answers as people would have liked; only 2 1/2 questions.

I don't know about anyone else, but I felt so good about the Anatomy test. I felt that I studied hard and I know all the structures. But after the test, I felt horrible and I feel like I failed. Does anyone else share this feeling with me??

ditto, patz. I was in the lab over 15-20 hours this week and knew my stuff really well, but somehow felt extremely off the ball pretty much throughout the practical and written parts. I think they screwed me by making me think at 715am (the screwed again by having absolutely no break between the two parts)

Normally I wouldn't be at all happy with an 80%, but I wouldn't be at all upset with that for this test

I think I at least learned how to study for the next one and at least beer tasted really good yesterday

I definitely agree w/ you guys! I've never felt this bad about an exam (I guess it didnt feel like AN exam though- more like 4+ exams put into one)ever! It makes me feel a bit better that I'm not the only one. I felt HORRIBLE after the written & I know I studied my a** off for this material. For some reason, though, studying just didnt seem to help w/ this one. I'd give anything to have our exams be like they were in college this is too much stress for one exam. I guess if anything though, study techniques may need some revamping for the next one ( it's a good thing there's a few more exams so we can recover from this one if need be).
Dont worry though, jpatz i'm sure you did well ( you were really excited about it on Thursday talking to those interviewees). I'm sure the fact that you felt good about it is a + contributor. I didn't feel good about it before, during, or after it occurred.I'm just +pissed+!

I am totally with you on this part. I never got to the point where I felt confident that I was on top of all the material. They also didn't give us an full minute on each question because I was watching my watch and using to gauge time left. On some of those questions there wasn't enough time to work out a definite answer. At least it is over with now.

how long did they give us per question??

Everything will be alright. One thing you need to remember, it IS ANATOMY in medical school. Is is made to be difficult but I'm sure you all did just fine. We have a fantastic anatomy dept. and they won't screw you over too badly. It will get better...I hope. Just do the best you can and it will all work itself out in the end. Have a good weekend and go and blow off some steam. 😀

I am not sure exactly because I was trying to focus most of my energy on the exam so maybe a few seconds off of each question. When we started the second hand of my watch would get to 55 seconds when the bell went off. After maybe a third of the exam the bell was going off before the 30 second mark. It is weird to me that the timer is not just set at a minute. A few seconds wouldn't make that much of a difference but why would we be told a minute if we did not get one. I just would have liked to know exactly how much time was left.

sorry to hijack your thread guys but wow...anatomy sounds tough...

grades are out for the anatomy test. i'm seriously disappointed in myself. there's no way to contest practical Q's too...oh well...next time gotta rock it!!!

Hey, as long as we pass, it's technically OK. That was VERY intense so it's not just you.

I passed! yipee

AND...I did better on the practical than the written, that's whack
