Fast and the furious opens this Friday - can't wait to see it! I don't think I'll need any help moving into my place - all seems well (a friend is coming with me). We should hang out, though. Let me know. I think I'm going to call you tomorrow just to shoot the ****.

BTW, here's the scope on working in the Biomechanics and Human Performance lab.... Make an appointment with Dr. Heiderscheit and he'll help you get started.

He will be receiving a new research assistant thus opening more doors for students to work in his lab.

Did anyone finish all their physical exam and immunization yet?

I alway seem to find something else is missing in my file..... I hope this doesn't become a headache come orientation.

BTW, it haled here.... It's freakin' June and it's haling!!! 😀

Regarding the Hail - I just bought a new car, and I'm not about getting it dented. Isn't this the second time it hailed in IA? What the F*ck? I can't have dents on my new baby, man! I'll freak out! I'll kill someone. I'll break someone's arm during OMT!!!

Actually it has haled here aout five times now.... one time it was those that are the size of golf balls which destroyed the cars in the car dealership....

Just thought I'd drop in and make sure you're all still alive. I just finished my first summer anatomy exam so I am taking a little time off to recuperate. Unfortuantely, it is scorchingly hot outside right now.. probably up in the 90's! Maybe I will drive down the beach 🙂. Anyway, I hope your summers are going smoothly... see ya around!

My parents have told me how hot it is there, but here in Des Moines, Iowa it haled a few days ago and right now it's merely a 75degree here... by tuesday there's going to be a chance of rain again....

Everyone seems to have left for summer break....

Nothin' really much here dude!!!

I'm getting use to the Iowa tempermental weather.... I'm trying to finish a book so I can get started on the OPP class we have during the first week.... remember jsdmu hooked it up!!!

I'm pretty much doing a 15 jog every night to get more and more into exercising.... Then hopefully move up to 20-30 a night.... I've gotten suggestions from long distance runners in this forum.... I was thinking maybe I can do the Dam to Dam marathon next year... get OMM from DMU students after the run 🙂

Just chillin' feel like a slug, sleeping a lot, rarity (sp?) to go, want to start already.... not use to not doing anything, etc., etc.

Did you get my last email KidT?

Yes, we most definately need to discuss what there is to do in Des Moines so that Popoy can get away from this damned thread and do something! just kiddin'! 🙂 If you're interested in running, there's a running club called the Capitol City Striders. I think they meet at a park in Clive on Monday nights...

I'm spoiled in California were we have stadium theatres!!!

Hmmm, let's see.....as far as food goes, the Latin King (on University east of freeway), Gino's (6th Avenue), and Noah's (Ingersoll) are all great, especially Italian food. You can get fantastic pizza at Felix and Oscar's (near Merle Hay mall). You also can't go wrong at Christopher's in Beaverdale or the Greenbriar in Johnston. If you want a good tenderloin or shake (greasy-spoon food) try George the Chili King on Hickman near Merle Hay. My personal favorite oriental food joint is Saigon Cafe on 86th street. Furthermore, there is a good stadium seat theater, I THINK it's the Wynnsong 16, which is north off 86th street in Johnston. I'll post more as I think of it, but these are some highlights.

Thank goodness there's a stadium theatre around here.... phewwww I thought I was going to have to settle with the old school type of theatres!!!

There's a Bucca Di Beppo in Iowa, I remember reading. There's one here in Detroit, and it's got a great atmosphere and lots and lots and lots of food food food.

Not bad!

I'm moving my stuff in, and then I'm going home for a week or two. Then I'm coming back for good. Do you have any suggestion on a cheap way to get my stuff to Iowa? How did you move your stuff?

It was most definitely HOT!!! I repeat HOT!!! today!!!... Nothin' much planned tonight...I'm trying to finish a book about the 3rd and 4th years of an allopathic med student.... I'm getting inspired to write one of my own....

I might go out joking tonight... yes I jog around midnight.... 😀

BTW, I saw that Noah's in Ingersoll, my wife and I are planning on trying it out this week.... Thanks mucho, mucho 😎

I used AMTRAK Express.... I was able to bring 800 lbs of stuff and paid approximately $220.... It's the cheapest you'll ever find. Trust me....

One down side was we had to pick up the stuff at Ottumwa, Iowa which is about a couple of hours southeast from here.... It was a nice adventure and we didn't mind....

But with the van rental and gas it was till two to three times cheaper than any cargo company.... The only thing you'll lose is time 😀

The rest of my stuff was stuffed in the back of my Toyota Corolla as my wife and I treck (sp?) across the country.... We looked like we had a low rider 😀

There's nothing much really other than call AMTRAK Express, in the phone book and just bring in the stuff.... There's certain dimensions (3ft x 3ft) and weight per box (70lbs).... Oh yeah, no breakable materials!!!

Racial profiling is the latest news here in Des Moines.... I'm not sure about the exact detail, but apparently police raided a local Cafe/Karaoke bar. I believe the owner's were Vietnamese and that they normally get lots of Asians.... Anyway, the police handcuffed all of the Asians there and placed them lying down on the street despite the fact most, if not all, of them were not guilty of anything. They were just there to eat and have fun.... Just thought I'd share that.... I've heard of racial tension existing here before, I wonder if it happens often... 🙁
