DMU self-proclaimed super-geniuses of the third row

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
DMC here I come. I can't wait, it should be a great 4 months.

Yea, that was sweet to see them whoop up on the Packers.

I was at the Chiefs game yesterday. The mood in the stadium really sucked after Trent Green went down. Good time though!

I know that had an effect on the decisions of some of the Texas students when it came to choosing a core.

I worked at JAX VA clinic today - 28 patients, 25 with nails and or calluses in 3 hours. that is 6.4 minutes per patient.

Jonwill knows what I am talking about.

and I got a $5 meal card for it - whoopee!!!!!

I was at the Lawns yesterday, first time. Dr. M was in clinic which was a surprise because of how busy he is now. I was the only one that got pimped by him but it was cool. We saw a post op total ankle implant (1 week) I think. That was sweet. I guess there are only 3 docs in this area who are allowed to put that implant in, 2 of which are DPMs, 1 ortho. This was Dr. M's second. Dr. Lee has put in a few but the ortho doc has yet to do one. It looks promising so well see how well these things pan out. The thing that sucks is that during this week of rotation at the Lawns, Im only there one afternoon. What is up with that?

I dont remember the name. I only know that you have to be selected to take the course in Chicago before the company allows you to use it.

At the program I'm at in NM, they are using the Agility Total Ankles. There is also a Buechel-Pappas. We've been getting pretty good results. Are they letting 3rd years do anything out there?

Yes, the A squad (Bubba, Black-jack, and me) won our privledges back.

As for gossip, I heard a student well call him Obert Sanderson is getting a sex change.

Buechel-Pappas is currently pulled off the market for now. It may come back to the market in the future. Currently, the only FDA approved Total Ankle Replacement Implant is the DePuy Agility, which its success rates vary quite a bit in literature. The Scandanvian Total Ankle Replacement is close to getting the FDA approval in the US. There are two other total ankle replacement prosthesis that are currently working on FDA approval includes Hintegra and Salto total ankle replacement prosthesis.

Are there any current or recent students that have externed or done their residency training at the inova-Fairfax residency program? I am pretty interested in the program from both an academic and location standpoint. I would love to here anything you guys have to say about it. Is it possible to do the core there or is that determined by the program itself? Has anyone done that from DMU? I know it is early in my education but, this is how I motivate myself.

No one from last years graduating class went there. However, there are some people in my class that are doing rotations there. There should be a list floating around somewhere at DMU that says where the DPM 07's are externing. I know the 08's have it because they won't leave me alone

jonwill,

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if any of the 2006 students applied to the residency or they did and not match? Thanks.

PM me and I will send it to your DMU email

I am not a DMU student (although I have been accepted for the 2011 class) nor am I a genius, let alone a super genius. However, I am a Bears fan and ESPN analysts Sean S. and Steve Y. both ranked the Bears as the #1 team in football.

A balanced offensive attack combined with a strong tackling defense prone to making big plays; hard to beat.

"Bear down Chicago Bears!!!"

PS. Go Cubs.

Cheers

I'm interviewing for residency in Chicago this December and have tickets to the Bears vs Vikings game!

Congrats on the interview. Would it happen to be the residency at Loyola University under Ron Sage DPM?

Vikings are the only viable threat to the Bears but I believe the ferocity of the Bears defense is too overwhelming.

I wish I had said tickets but I dont have the scratch for such purchases.

Cheers

It is actually one of the CRIP locations (centralized residency interview program). There is a West, Central, and East location. That way, regardless of how many programs you are interviewing for, you are only making 3 trips (which saves a ton of money). Most of mine happen to be attending the Chicago (central) CRIP.

Roger that.

I wasnt aware that the interview process was conducted as such. Seems fairly user friendly.

I just want to recognize these two for starting the biggest freakn' thread of all time.

Hey thanks. Looks like you got about 6 whole posts under your belt. Good job! keep working at it little buddy. Before you know it, you will be posting with the big dogs such as jonwill and Dr. Feelgood. 👍

You know you're big time when The Stone recognizes you.

That or getting your face on a park bench.

Yes, DA BEARS. I am jealous you get to go to a game this season.
