Excellent avatar choice! He taught you the five point palm exploding heart technique? Of course he did....tjnissly said:Alright, okay...you guys caught me, guilty as charged.
I really can't think of anything worse than a right wing forum...except Faux news and Rush Limbaugh and the current administration and having a first year pop your inlet.
As for the censorship of Astro's NP comment...that was crap. Luckily we don't get censored here on SDN...even though we are probably being monitered by the feds for terrorist activities. If I suddenly disappear, you can bet it is because I read one too many Chomsky articles...

Interesting idea, but answer this. If economics is the primary motivating factor in voting, why did bush almost exclusively win rural areas, while kerry held the majority of urban areas. Not to knock rural folk, but it's not like they have a tera haute, indiana version of the apprentice. A huge amount of bush's support came from people that "voted their morals" How did a former coke head with more shady deals and dui's than ted kennedy become the moral guy? Ahhh yes, he loves jesus and hates gays. Churches across america are telling paritioners to vote for this guy. Why are so many low ses folks republican? Republicans spit on these people. Bush has said many times that the top 1% of people are his "Base". Talk about representing the majority.... Why is is okay to try to make a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage? That's like making a constitutional amendment to ban black marriage. The president is persecuting a minority group, and thats somehow ok. As far as economics, wasn't Americas most prosperous 8 years economically under the clinton administration? Not blaming W for the current status, just saying I don't think the president has as much to do with the economy than people think......IT'S THE FREEMASONS!Astroglide User said:Best lecture comment of the day = "this is rare but actually fairly common."
WHAT THE FXXK!?
welcome to the forum tanner; it's great to have another intellectual here, even if we pretend we disagree about politics. someday you will find yourself voting conservatively b/c you finally figure out that money matters more than anything else when you head to the voting polls.
It's not religion, abortion, social structure, welfare, socialized medicine (THE WORST IDEA EVER). what matters is the age-old utilitarian thought regarding "how does my effort / time in voting benefit ME best?"

Oh thank you, they are an expert (?) in their field, or at least have some actual knowledge of it, and you have taken biochem AND phys! Quick call the medical journals, they need to know about this new source of info.

When will we be able to leave the horror of that gruesome incident behind us? Never. We all have ptsd and we will have to deal with it all our lives.babyruth said:I'm still smarting from the Kanner/Conner child fiasco of March 2005, ouch that sucked... thanks NP, i Love you in a masochistic kind of way--- whoever missed the paraphilia lectures today are acrotomophiliac (sp?) --gets turned on by people that are amputees.

glad i got your attention with my blatent comment. i truly meant nothing with that statement but just wanted to read some posts today, knowing that would get responses. the economy was great during the clinton years, but it collapsed shortly after and even before 9/11. he gave people falsified hopes, and people invested without caution. republicans also ran the government during his term via the house and senate. my conclusion = balanced gov't is ideal.
the ending point is that the president has little effect on the economy, other than what people "think of it." and polls indicate how little people actually know since they judge based solely on the money in their pocket. the economy polls should ask "are you as rich as you want to be right now?" and the answer to a "NO" answer should be "get your ass to work and quit bitching about it." if you work 9-5 and have a lot of time on your hands...that is wealth in itself.
GW was not the best man for the job, but he was the best man running. Kerry's promises were similar to those of iowa governor...not realistic. socialized medicine - NOT going to work in the US. we need to have a major change in mindset before people are happy with very average healthcare that comes to the masses. right now we treat the person. with socialism, we would be treating the group. pick your poison b/c i will have to work in either system...i just prefer how it is now.
GAY MARRIAGE. i am very liberal on this point but also agree with a ban on "gay marriage." instead, we do civil unions and life gets better. i realize many people marry according to its definition. so we just classify gay couples via other means. i just cannot wait until we get to have a "gay divorce" problem in the US.
"Hey did you hear cliff got divorced last year?" Yeah...it was gay.

Dartos Vader said:I don't think most gay people really desire a document recognized by the christian church saying "marriage". Most of them know that organized religion pretty much isn't rooting for them. I think having the same legal rights and privileges, and equal recognition of their relationships validity is more the goal. On an unrelated note, the nice thing about having a goatee is, when people assume youre gay, at least they assume you are the man in the relationship.

i bet you assume those glasses make you look more intellectual, just like i assume shaving my head makes me look less bald. back to the glasses topic: i find my girlfriend much more attractive when she wears glasses - probably since I think she is a different girl when doing so. that might explain why i have an urge to starve myself when i see you wearing glasses and acting smart on the 3rd floor . . . .
