Do all fellowships have CME allowance?

Do all fellowships have CME allowance? Just curious if that is a requirement b/c my fellowship does not give us CME $.

My fellowship would reimburse us one conference a year, but otherwise had no CME allowance that I recall offhand.

They aren’t required to. Is your concern just that they don’t give you $ for going to a conference? This varies widely. Some will pay to send you to any conference you have a paper accepted to. Mine sent us for podium presentations but auto declined posters. Most programs give you information on CME $ allowance when interviewing.

If your concern is getting CME for your residency specialty certification requirements, just being in fellowship typically counts as enough CMEs to maintain certification.

Sometimes they will give you “educational money” to buy books or whatever. My internal medicine residency did not do this, but my fellowship gave a small amount and paid for us to go to our major specialty conference one of the two years.
