Do all schools send an email when they are actively reviewing your application?

Do all schools send an email when they are actively reviewing your application? I applied to a pretty large sum of schools and have only received emails that they are "in the process of reviewing my application" by a fraction of them. Is this based upon their deadlines and whatnot?
