That is, once I'm in, do I have to send them my senior year grades? Does it matter as long as I get my diploma? I'm staring down the face of 5-credit hours of B's, that's if I whip my butt into gear. If I just sit here, pleasantly floating down the river of coursework on a tube, sipping my smirnoff and getting some sun, they could possibly turn into C's. I'm really slacking these days, and the fact that I HATE ALL MY COURSES doesn't help. All I do is daydream about interviews and being a doctor all through classes. Who cares about coomassie assays and ATP-Binding Cassettes? I might have last year, but this year, I've got more important things on my mind 😎

All that to say, is it worth adding more gray hairs to this 21-year old head and breaking out the pre-interview John study routine?

C'mon, just turn up the drip on the Smirnoff, ease back and dream about your 20 months at a bug-infested, hurricane-ravaged Caribbean school. 😀

Seriously, just grind it out. Regrets suck!

In a word Yes, (they need official proof that you graduated)... Work hard, but don't worry too much, once you're accepted (unless you have to pass a certain class like biochem), as long as you get the minimum prereq's, (usually C) you should be fine. Good luck

I wouldn't slack off too much until you find out the requirement from your prospective school. I was accepted to NSU and all they want is a final transcript, but some schools will require that you hold a certain GPA at graduation time.

Good luck.

I've asked a few schools and all they require is that you get your diploma and finish prereqs. Just don't get any D's or F's.

Are you accepted yet, JohnDO? Cause if not, you might want to consider the possibility of applying with C grades. If you are already accepted, then go ahead and relax a little, but don't count on anything. 🙂

They won't allow you to matriculate as a student if your final transcripts are not submitted.

As for C's, they very much do not preclude you from acceptance----even multiples of C's, as long as your MCAT is adequate. You don't have to submit your transcript until after you are accepted however, if it will lower your GPA. Realize that they cannot then drop you acceptance unless there is a drastic change of GPA including failures, especially if they are in prerequisite classes.

As hard as it is, you have to contiune to do what you have done thus far. Don't get a bunch of bad grades. Some schools do let you know that they can yank your acceptance if you don't perform the same as what you have so far. I can't remember which ones do that.

I know what you are facing. I had a horrible case of senoritis a few years ago. As a senior I tonly ook 10 credits in the last spring, but I stupidly took a 5 credit embryology course with a lab in my last semester of the last year of school and it almost killed me. The prof was the hardest in the department. I really struggled just squeek out a B. It was awful. So I know what you are talking about when you say you don't want to be there.

Just put your nose in the books and get through this last year. You are almost to the finish line. Good luck

It is okay to slow down a bit... but would you be happy with your achievement at the end of the year.

Also... you knew there is an also... If you apply for scholarships in the future they will require your transcripts. For exmaple if you decide to do a research internship they will look at your grades... undergrad). Or if you realize that you don't want to be a doctor but become a ______ than your grades will make a difference.

I am strating to talk like my dad... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Thanks for the encouragement/advice guys! I'm going to really push hard this semester, because regrets always suck.
