Do Osteopathic schools give weight to physician letters?

Do Osteopathic schools give weight to physician letters? I haven't met one physician who's good at writing. Seems pretty ill-thought to have a physician letter as a requirement when most will just comment "Known xxx for "x" amount of years, good student, has the drive to be a physician" summed up in less than 300 words.

Yes they do, and it doesn't matter. It shows that you've done due diligence.

They're ALL fine. Doctors are incapable of writing anything bad.

In my 20+ years of being on the Adcom, I can only recall two bad clinician LORs!

Having an MD LOR won't hurt you, but having a DO LOR always helps
