Do applicants that apply to both DO and MD programs generally write one personal statement for both, or one for each? Is it acceptable to tell a DO school why you want to be a physician rather than telling them why you want to be an osteopathic physician?

I used the same one for both. One of them allows fewer characters though, so watch for that.

Why DO will be covered in your secondaries and interviews.

You can tell that they're identical, except for the line: "...and that's why I want to be an osteopathic doctor!"
