I took DAT last year and got 17 AA and TS, i am planning on taking DAT in late July

should i submit app NOW ? I am scared that they will look at my 17 DAT and reject me without even waiting for my DAT retake

Do schools wait for u to take ur DAT

I think that in the application you can tell them you are planning to take the DAT again, but I am not sure.

for the most part, no

That's why theres a part on the app for FUTURE scores. All of the schools I am applying to will set your application aside until they receive your new scores. Or in the case of GHSU they will review you. Set it aside. Then RE-review you when your new scores come in. So I would def go ahead and apply.

See that was my question until I attended a dental Sim Course at Midwestern University. They told me that once you have sent your application with the first DAT score, they will not go back to the second DAT score that you sent afterwards. It just depends on the school(s) you are applying to. But I would definitely check with the school(s) you are applying to before sending in your application. You wouldn't want to waste your energy or the school's time.

i'm just thinking that if i apply now, schools will just reject me before i even take DAT again in July. Then if i score really well on DAT, it might be too late they might already rejected me

To be safe you should call each school, they may review your 'complete' application differently.

The following is a quote from the "New Applicants - PLEASE READ!!!!" sticky...

DAT:
If you list on your AADSAS application that you are writing a future DAT, the schools won't review your application or consider your application complete until they receive your latest scores. This means your application from AADSAS will still occur, the hold up will be at the schools.

I do not know if this information is still current but I hope for our sakes it is. I am taking the DAT again on July 16th and have already submitted my application along with my secondaries.

But still. Check each school. Some are very explicit that they won't hold any applications or do a re-review. So do your own homework. Don't strictly go off what AADSAS says.

Edit: I'll add that you should work with the school directly about holding your app if they will. These sorts of things are on their website FAQs. Don't assume you're safe by just inputing a future date on AADSAS.
