I am sophomore at university of texas and my UT GPA is 3.7, chem major. but my cumulative gpa is like 3.3 because i did not take summer classes at community college seriously.
Is it true that they look for cumulative gpa other than university gpa?

I can't speak for UT, but Texas A&M calculated a cumulative GPA based on coursework from all institutions attended and PharmCAS schools do the same. I'd say it's a safe bet that they do, otherwise how would they your CC credits? It wouldn't be fair to not factor them in, otherwise people would only take their harder courses at a CC (not necessarily easier there, but it's a perception many have).

Any Pharmacy school and any graduate school that you apply to is going to look at all of your coursework. I know alot of people at Community College think they need a "C to transfer". What the schools focus on will vary by school. It sounds like your science and pre-req GPA will be high. And, since you are a sophomore, you have planty of opportunity to pull your cumulative GPA up.

Pharmcas calculates tons of GPA's. I had one for Freshmen Year, Sophormore Year, Junior Year, Senior Year, Post Bac, Cum Undergrad, Grad, and Overall.

They also calculated by subject area: Biochem, Inorganic Chem, Organic, Bio, Physics, Math, etc...

i agree w the last poster here but also you gotta keep in mind that pharmcas will calculate all ur GPA's for you and some schools only look at your pre-pharamcy GPA specially if your attempting to transfer into a undergrad program before the professional year starts. other wise they will consider ur cum gpa and ur pre-pharm as well....i would recommend doing very well in ur science classes because those are the ones they are gunna care about the most they arn't gunna care that you got an A in english lit or in religion or some type of class like that... just to let you know... so all in all do well in all ur classes but especially science!
