DO waitlist support thread 2019-2020

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Looks like we’ve got a couple of schools that have completed admissions for the 2019-2020 cycle. I’m making a master post for that information here and will update accordingly. If people who are accepted could PM me the info with the start date of orientation/classes that would be helpful. I was able to look up some information from school websites but again confirmation is helpful. There were also some schools where I was unable to find the information through their website. Schools that are finished with admissions for this cycle will be bolded and have red text.

No movement reported today yet.

edit: Movement reported at ATSU SOMA

In other news, WCU is still sending out interview invites!
yikes, i know WCU is bad but they're completely out of WL spots? damn

I know a few schools start orientation next week. Is it likely. for movement to happen through the weekend?

Chances are at each school at least one or 2 people will drop. But it depends on the school whether or not they'll call people off the waitlist. I know someone who got off the wl the first day of classes because someone dropped at orientation the day before

Movement at CHSU today. TCOM offered a few deferred acceptances today. Someone reported that they were accepted to Touro CA yesterday.

edit: Movement at ATSU SOMA

LECOM Bradenton has apparently completed their cycle and notified applicants of this by email.

KCOM, SOMA, BCOM, Rowan, KCU, TCOM, and VCOM LA all start orientation tomorrow (if the dates listed above are correct). I’m not sure if they plan to accept students through orientation and the start of classes but I think we can safely say chances for WL movement are lower for these schools now.

Edit: KCOM and SOMA start classes tomorrow.

Does anyone know if AZCOM and CCOM admissions are in communication with each other at all since they're both Midwestern? I was accepted off the WL for AZCOM, but still on the WL for CCOM (my preferred choice).

They are not in communication with each other so CCOM will not know that you’ve been accepted to AZCOM and it does not influence any decision they make. Have you sent a letter of intent to CCOM?

Okay great, thank you!! I sent a letter of intent to CCOM about 3 weeks ago and I was accepted into AZCOM on 06/29. I'm a Chicago resident, so I'm still holding out for CCOM, but obviously can't wait forever.

Ah I see, hope you hear good news soon! I’m expecting that there will be more movement at both schools this week since nothing was reported last week. Either way, congrats on your acceptance!

Anybody think people will give up seats this late in cycle? 🙁

Very unlikely, also I would think that schools will offer last-minute seats to IS waitlisted applicants first since chances of them going are higher than OOS.

People are still reporting giving up seats but this late in the cycle, chances for acceptance are low. Don’t give up hope but also prepare for a rejection. If you’re oos from your WL schools, ask if this will have any impact on admissions. It’s better to ask than to assume.
