Yes you have a good shot of getting in.

maji-

you also could have said, "i echo the great ijcMD"

whats so great about ijcmd?
Howbout yer football team eh?

You have a very good chance of getting in.
I had pretty similar scores...oh yeah, except my GPA was a bit LOWER! and I got in many many years ago (1998...holy cow!)
Anyway, these days, I'm in an orthopaedic surgery sports medicine fellowship in NYC and the whole Sackler experience was the best part of all my training.
Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

Hey Guys - I am a Hispanic 23 yo male from South FL interested in Sackler tremendously. I am highly interested in Trauma, Ortho Surg, etc and also the chance to learn a new language and culture but also come back to live and practice in the states.

Below are my stats:

Male; Hispanic; 23yo
fluent in Spanish, English, and near so with French

MCAT (2005) = 27 T

Cum GPA = 3.48 (although I graduated Cum Laude; I transferred halfway through college to do research; I had a 3.2 at my 1st college, and then a 3.6 Cum at the second which I got my degree from)

Research = 2 yrs of marine-organism based pharmaceutical genetics-type research in a university lab. Cloning, PCR, RT-PCR, culturing colonies, gel electro, etc, you name it I did it 🙄

Shadowing = 1,100+ hours with a Jewish Peds ER physician in South FL over the course of 5 years :hardy:

**currently studying to re-take the MCAT in January, and when I apply to Sackler June 2008, I will have an M.Sc. degree from my 2nd college in "Biomed Sciences".

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES????? 😱

Get back to me - feel free to P-M me as well! 👍

Thanks,
-ALGO.

Sackler has no officially released set of data on average MCAT scores and GPAs of matriculated students. Take comfort in the fact that there are students with low 20's and mediocore GPA's but at the same time, students with VERY good credentials. Personality goes a long way. You can PM me if you have further questions
