Is the HPV vaccine part of your care guidelines in your practice for both boys and girls?

Of course, just like any of the vaccines recommended routinely by the AAP.

There is a larger proportion of the population that refuses or is skeptical about this vaccine, but it doesn't change our practice in advising it.

Our local adult cancer center has started really pushing for kids to get the vaccine.

As they should. It prevents a lot of forms of cancer and it's also extremely safe. A ton of misinformation surrounds HPV vaccine and always has. It's unfortunate.
That's actually how I try and sell the HPV vaccine these days to boys. I tell them that it prevents penis cancer.

This approach works shockingly well.
