Do you study for finals?

What do you consider the difference between review and study? In a class with nothing but notes, I don't really see the difference.

Ok. How about this?
learning new material and relearning old material = studying
learning new material and reading over (aka skimming) old material = reviewing

i just skimmed the old notes over
"Posting on SDN" should be an option 👍
Well, since most of my finals are not really comprehensive, I generally study the new material.
Since your on the topic of finals. I was wondering to what is the most effective way to study my Gen. Chem. II Cumulative final in two weeks. Our professor keeps our old exams, yet passed back our old quizes. Should I redo all of my Homework, or my old exams study guides & class notes. I guess what I'm asking is what was more effective for you to understanding the concepts. Thanks for you advice in advance🙂
I would go over the study guides and class notes if you can. While you're studying, work on a few homework problems.Since your on the topic of finals. Before pharmacy school, I studied and now, I'm just too tired. I was trying to make more A's this semester and now after this final round of tests, I'm just like, whatever. Just let me pass and I'll be okay until I see my transcript (which is when I usually get mad and remind myself to do better next time). I think you can get away with reviewing if you learned it well the first time, otherwise you gotta study.

repetition makes perfect!
I generally studied for most finals, except where I needed something like a 115% to get an A, but only a 45% to keep a B. In those cases, I just quickly skimmed my notes and spent my time trying to get better grades in other classes.
in those cases i just didnt even study for tat test 🙂

How the heck do people not study? Right now in physio our class average so far is about a 76 and in molec. bio about a 77. Immuno I would guess to also be in the mid 70s. Do people just not study and take grades like this, or are averages higher at other schools?

the trick is to be above average!😉
I usually like to do very well all semester so when finals roll around I only have to get to C to achieve an A in the class. I actually got exempt from one final today because of it!!! Woot, woot! That means only 4 finals next week!
But I do review all my stuff for finals, don't really study.

I learn the new material and skim the old stuff sometimes. Most of the time I don't even go back over the old stuff. A lot of our professors make the "cumulative" part of the test a little easier by giving more broad questions to make sure you get the big idea. The new material is just as hard as it was on previous exams through the quarter. Those averages sound about right to me. I think it's just going to be a little different from school to school.
