Do you think EK Bio 1001 is relatively easy?

I started working the problems out in the 1001 manual for Biology, and found that most of these passages are quite easy. Does anybody else think this? From time to time, I'd find a few challenging questions, but nothing that hard as the AAMC Biology questions. Anybody have any input on this?

It would depend on your definition of hard. I find detail oriented questions to be difficult, and that is a lot of what that book seems to be.....like knowing exactly how many atp there from each step in glucose metabolism or how many NADH, FADH2, ATP are produced from the Krebs cycle.

The AAMC bio questions seem to be more concept oriented and seem to question the passage more critically. This I find is easier because I don't have some excruciating detail or another memorized.....the answer is right in the passage. In short, I think it's all in the eye of the beholder.

No, I think they are harder.

I've scored as high as 13 on the BS for AAMC, never below 11, and definately miss more problems on EK 1001. If you took 8 random passages from EK 1001 it would make a much harder test than AAMC BS for sure. I think their passage-based questions are at least as difficult as AAMC's.

One thing that makes EK1001 easier is if you do tons of passages on the same subject in one sitting, after reviewing that subject.

I wish I could say the same thing, but my story is the complete opposite. Before, I used to miss a question - 2 per passage after doing 8 EK passages, but now it's usually just 3 or 4 questions.

However, with the AAMC tests, I'm missing 3-4 questions PER passage. 🙁
