Do you think the test center will allow another light source?

When I took the MCAT earlier last year, the lighting conditions have been less than stellar. It almost creates a sleepy mood for myself. Between then and now, I have bought a nice LED lamp that really helps with my concentration. Do you think if I take the lamp in there earlier and have them check it, do you think they will let me use it?

I highly doubt it. You could call the center and check ahead.
The best option is probably going to be going to another testing center. If the lighting is poor, screw them; their services may be defunct in some other way as well.
I know lighting isn't generally that big of a deal, but if it is significant enough to really mess with your head, then definitely consider going to another center.
