I'm going into dermatoplasticradioneurosurgery like anyone with half a brain nowadays.I hope you plan on doing Plastics.
Not when I was in high school I didn't.
Jesus I'm not actually from ND

You're lucky. Most CC courses are not taught by professors at a nationally ranked university. CC courses are known for the expectations for students being much less than at a national undergrad. So getting an "A" there is not a big deal.I think it's interesting how much hate people heap on CC courses. I took some sciences at CC that were taught by professors from the big name nationally ranked state university, with the exact same format they used for their university students. Prepared me well enough to score in the mid 30s![]()
That is awesome!@Mad Jack
Dat interior.

If any thread on SDN goes on long enough, someone will eventually be declared a horrible doctor whose patients should be pitied.Only on SDN can a thread about dream homes turn into a flame war.![]()

Never taken the ACT, never will.No MCAT necessary. He'll just apply with his ACT score. After all, he has already accomplished so much.
AGAIN with the holier-than-thou attitude.Never taken the ACT, never will.

Thanks for the link man!
Going back to the OP, I'm not sure your intentions for asking this but I will indulge you hoping it was asked with good intentions.
I finished medical school in 2006, work as an emergency physician in a small city in Minnesota. My wife is also a physician who graduated in 2005 and we have one child to support.
We have rented our entire lives and saved money by driving Honda civics and living within our means at all times. We bought our first house in 2012 which we believe to be our dream home.
We have four bedrooms and live at the end of a culdesac in a neighborhood. We have a pool and small movie room. We have our dream vehicles now which are a ford f150 and ford explorer (high trim levels).
We are completely blessed and know we are significantly more financially sound than most, but we have no Ferraris, helicopters, vacation homes, etc. we get three weeks of vacation and usually take one of them for a trip as a family. The others we drive to a local Minnesota getaway or just relax at home.
We have loans on the cars and the home but hope to have everything paid off in the next six years.
This is similar life to our colleagues for what it's worth. Please don't assume the flashiest of any specialty is representative of the whole...it's usually far from the truth.
Whoa, is that actually a house, or like the lobby of ski resort condos?Moar cabins!

Wow, that's really nice. It looks like you have a bit of a deck out back. Nice lawn too. Congrats on the purchase!View attachment 181116
Here is a picture. It's our sanctuary but you will see its not a castle nor does it have a helipad or any other outlandish luxury
Both my parents are physicians and they have a lot of physician friends and it may be because you've just started practicing but what you described is a vast underestimate of what a physician can afford, in my opinion.View attachment 181116

It's a ranch of some sort, no doubt open to visitors.Whoa, is that actually a house, or like the lobby of ski resort condos?
.........Really, man? What kind of thing is that to say to a hard working doctor who described his home as his and his family's sanctuary? Dammit, that's callous. Both my parents are physicians and they have a lot of physician friends and it may be because you've just started practicing but what you described is a vast underestimate of what a physician can afford, in my opinion.

Depends on your definition of "can afford." A single physician in a primary care field has roughly 8k a month to spend after taxes, loans, etc. That is enough to afford a $2,880/mo in mortgage payment and taxes, or roughly a 350-500k home, depending on the interest rate you land. A couple can double this to a 700k-1m home. These figures are very loose, due to variable taxes and interest rates possible, and assume the maximum recommended home debt to income ratio of 0.36.Both my parents are physicians and they have a lot of physician friends and it may be because you've just started practicing but what you described is a vast underestimate of what a physician can afford, in my opinion.
