I've seen Rite Aid's. Kroger is worse. The pneumonics make no sense at all.

And it only took me 4 months to figure out how to enter in a Flonase like that! God help the poor guy who just started if there is an insurance problem.

I don't think Rite Aid's system is slow. I've worked for them for about a year now, and NexGen is a pretty good system. Its windows based, so you just click next when appropriate and save and close when it lights up. The rest pretty much follows along well, at least I think. Sometimes it can be a bit slow at about 4-5pm, but nothing drastic. I like it, at least.

Rite Aid's is so bad, is just really freakin slow. Not a good one when you need to get caught up quick. Its a bad sign when my fat sausage fingers are faster than the computer.

We got Rite Aid's old computers when CVS bought them out on the east coast. Boy were they slow and unwilling to provide us with anything!! We couldn't wait to get rid of that computer in the corner.

Hmmmm, a few weeks away from Kroger and I'm rusty.
What is the "p" for in yours?
And the extra F6?

I agree, Kroger is bad.

p = year of refills
extra F6 is for that damned interaction screen
No two Krogers have the same computer system pneumonics, either. Whenever you get a newer floater they begin chucking scissors at the computer screen in anger after a while until they realize that fact.

Oh, yeah!
I've only been away from Kroger a few weeks, and I'm already rusty!

I've worked for Rite-Aid for 3 years now. I've worked on their previous system (RADS) and was a "life guard" for when they first implemented NextGen. NextGen sacrifices some speed for accuracy. You can do multiple orders and multitask much better with it. I do other things like pull the drug when it's processing the order so I can verify that I pulled the right drug with the scanner. Once you get the hang of it, you can enter prescriptions really fast.

I also work part time at a hospital which uses an antiquated pharmacy system. I'm also currently doing a Target rotation and have been on rotations at Wal-Mart and Neighborcare. RiteAid's NextGen system is by far the best of the ones I've worked with. So many things about it that I take for granted when working at the other systems makes me miss NextGen -- WIMO, status check, quick price look up, multitasking, easy to view customer profile, deferred list, etc.

Is that PDX for Kroger?
