I mean, you gotta learn about buoyancy and tension and stuff.

I've always wondered about the origin of "underwater basket weaving" as the go-to absurd example of a pointless cake class...

Demonstrates manual dexterity....good for future surgeons.

No -- weaving is under the heading of Fine Arts. And you don't learn about buoyancy, because if you did, it would be "floating on top of water" basket weaving instead of underwater.

what about neutral buoyancy? you can be underwater but not sinking if you've got the mad skills.

At my school the weavers always sunk to the bottom. They left the buoyancy for the physics jocks.

I knew a guy who sunk at basketweaving but he got into Harvard

What, nobody's bringing up oxygenated fluorocarbons or the subsequent "underwater means under WATER" argument?

it'll count, but next semester you have to supplement it with "bowling on ice hockey rinks."

How do you weave baskets underwater? What, do you wear snorkels to class?

Is that really a class anywhere???
