Hello all. I am currently a fourth year medical student in the American University of Beirut, and I have been advised to do my internship in the UK as the waiting period will be about 6 months only (as far as I heard). However I am not really sure about that

Is there a good chance for an IMG who holds a nationality of a commonwealth member to find a spot for internship in a UK hospital? What are the requirements (besides the PLAB tests)? What criteria might increase my chances of getting accepted into a hospital?

Will it be a positive thing to say in my application that I do not desire to do my specialty in the UK? Or will it be a deterrent that will decrease my chances of getting accepted?

Don't know what waiting period you are on about?

It will be next to impossible for you to get a job in the UK unless you are a citizen of a country in the EU.

Also, when applying for any job, anywhere, it would be ridiculous to tell them you don't want to do your specialist training there. Why on earth would they want to waste their time and money training you so you can just up and leave as soon as they have?

Thanks for the answer.

It's not possible. They made a new law last year which prohibit all IMG to get training post in UK.
