ok, i made an account just to reply to this thread. As a gay Christian aspiring to become a physician-scientist (obviously I face some cognitive dissonance here), I just wanted to say that although I am offended by some of bceagles2012's comments, I am much more offended by many of the SDNers who replied to his/her comments with personal attacks, especially regarding his religious beliefs. If you disagree with him, at least provide something constructive as a response (as some SDNers have done in this thread). Otherwise, bluntly insulting an individual's beliefs just seems plain out hypocritical when you're trying to stand up for the rights and beliefs of others.

Anyway, I don't think people were attacking the OP's religious beliefs, but rather his desire to use religion as a means of separating himself from others, as evidenced by posts like this:

And for the record, no, I would not be uncomfortable. As a lady, I'd perfectly comfortable with a lesbian doctor, nurse, PA, etc, and I'd actually be more comfortable with a gay man than a straight man examining me. I'm fine with transgender people too. I just want my doctor, nurse, PA, etc to do his or her job professionally and competently. 👍

Hey man, I have real friends. I hang out with Joey and Ross all the time, but lately Chandler hasn't been coming around. I think he's messing around with one of my other friends, but I'm not too sure. That or he's gay.
