Doorway information- cs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How long did you guys usually take to soak in all the doorway info, develop differentials, and write down mnemonics?👍

As long as it took to jot down the patient's name (so i wouldn't forget) and the vitals (for the note later). Didn't even look at the rest - you have to ask the patient why he's there anyway and differentials will come to you as you get pertinent history. Take my advice with a grain of salt though - I did not get any stars on anything other than SEP, which was off the chart 😀

hahahah i'm sorry, but that was just completely useless. lol u need differentials at the door, so you have an easier time asking focused questions, and not random **** they gonna get mad at you for asking.

Thank you though, for taking time and saying something 🙂

I personally never had a time as far as taking the history, doing the physical and closure. Might have been only once that I was there till the end of the allotted time. My biggest problem was writing the patient note, because it can be difficult fitting everything in there.

Id say take as much time as you want before, within reason. The 30 seconds to 1 minute are worth it so that you dont sit around staring blankly inside.
