On a GS exam...there was an obvious double displacement exam, but the choices were "double replacement" and "displacement" (no mention of single or double)...i chose displacement....and the answer was double replacement.

I wanted to clarify they are the same...anyways it was a poorly worded question to begin with.

double displacement and double replacement are the same. replacement=displacement. pretty lame question on the test though.

they may also use Metathesis for double displ.
