I'm just making a random guess on the assumption that roughly a third of applicants check this site out. There's no science behind it, and I didn't get it officially.

Also, unofficially, a former student told me that he was of the impression and 99% sure that the alternates list is unranked, and they just pull us off the list lottery style. However, like all things, it's likely the process has changed over the years.

Any news?

I don't think any notifications, if they occur at all will probably happen until at least tuesday of next week. My letter said I have a week from the reception date to get it in. Assuming the last mailing was on 7/3, they'll probably give everyone until 7/10 for reception, and until 7/17 for getting the information in to them. That correlates with the health information dates as well.

Argh...I'm pretty anxious. According to the 2004-2005 MSAR, they're looking for a class of 185ish, w/ a previous class size of 175.

thanks for the update but it seems that everyone on hold got the alternate list. has anyone heard of any other decision?

Looks like everyone's getting on the waitlist from hold. I haven't heard of anyone being rejected.

My advice is for you to go ahead and get your health information and records in order because that's the one part that will take the longest if you get a waitlist notification.

Maybe they weren't sure whether they wanted to accept this group outright or waitlist you all, so they were waiting to see how many spots opened up? I think that must be it 🙂

Anyone else that should be on this list? Let us know how it all goes. This is driving me nuts. Let's hope the spots open up.

Also, for those of you that are worried about the papers getting in late, I think you're fine. I just overnighted my transcripts after calling admissions earlier to get some clarification of what "final transcripts" are. Apparently, it's not just your last grades/semester of class, but a record dated recently around the time the alternate letter went out. I had a full set of transcripts sent in January, after finishing my last classes in December, but they needed something more recent. Anyways, they didn't seem to make a big deal about it...hope it's not them just stringing me along some more.

Negative here. They told me I was cleared, but that was it...Maybe I should call again. They told me my forms at admissions were clear before, but then they said they needed another transcript, the 3rd one I've sent.

I had to go into their office to get a second PPD after my first (done at my doctor's office) turned out negative. They said they do this to confirm if you were born in an "at risk" country or have recently been there. As far as I could tell, there's no getting out of it. HTH!
