Did anyone see the piece on 60 minutes last week? It featured the increasingly violent actions of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) and its sister organization Animal Liberation Front (ALF).
One of ALF's most vocal proponents is a trauma surgeon in LA, Jerry Vlasak. He is known to advocate the assassination of humans who perform vivisections. Here is a quote:
I think for five lives, ten lives, 15 human lives, we could save a million, two million, ten million nonhuman lives. ... I think people who torture innocent beings should be stopped. And if they won't stop when you ask them nicely, they won't stop when you demonstrate to them what they're doing is wrong, then they should be stopped using whatever means necessary, Vlasak replied.
Here is some interesting details on a recent blogpost: http://stevegilliard.blogspot.com/2005/11/short-road-to-jail.html
What do people on this form think of Dr Vlasak's stand?
