For sure. So maybe I’m wrong, but gut instinct is telling me otherwise. If I get an II, I’d definitely be happy (as I am literally already here), but if not then I’ll deal with the cards I’ve been dealt with

@FreeWorlBoss @drnigeria @premedtarheel @Dito22 @Notsoaveragebeing @icevyne25 If you remember your interview day well, would you be up for sharing how in depth the interview questions got? Were the interviewers wanting to hear about the reasons behind your performance in undergrad or your MCAT scores? Also, what sort of applicant do you think the adcom was looking for? Other current students who might be reading the thread, please chime in!

Hey guys. When you submitted your math/science gpa calculator, did you get logged out? Did the requirement become checked right away? I submitted mine about 3 times and the same thing happens every time. It also keeps showing that the requirement is not met.

From my experience it takes sometime for the system to mark it as complete...
 
I attended one of Drexel's SMP. It wasn't the DPMS program but we shared a lot of classes and I am still close with some who are now DUCOM students. If you guys have any questions less about the DPMS program itself but about Drexel and what to expect let me know!

Also wonder what the turn around time is between the interview and notifications of acceptance or not. Anyone with any info, feel free to chime in

Supposedly the adcoms want to move up acceptance to give more time for people get their affairs in order.

That makes sense. I have read some stories similar to yours and it sounds next to impossible to get there in a week and get ready for school. Also, they now changed the starting date to mid July to give more time as well.
 
Submitted 03/08/18. Complete 3/27/18 (Had sent two of the same transcripts. First one was received 3/12/18 while the second one on the 27th.)Does anyone know if they review applications by rolling or they review based on stats? I'm wondering if I have been passed over. Do they send rejections fast or do they wait until they fill their class?
 
@preccmed Idk what the metrics are for reviewing applicants precisely, but they did recently update their website to show what the review process is. It seems like it’s rolling from January until May 2nd, with IIs being sent out between now and May 24th. I think in past years they received a couple hundred applications. So you’re still in the running!

Would you know if the classes DPMS students take during summer will be different this year since the summer semester is starting in July not June?

They would probably be the same. The entire schedule is 3-4 weeks shifted, you'd start later and end later. For example Fall classes began this year the first week of August or so and end the first week of May.

I’m pretty sure in the past acceptance did not go out in the beginning of May ...the informational session I attended they told me acceptance typically went out 1st-3rd week of June. So they are getting back to people sooner this year.

When you have your interview can you post how many people were there, including yourself?

They're moving up interview dates so there's more time to come to Philly and get settled for classes. It's no worry!

Thanks for offering to do this. As an MS1 you’re doing the new curriculum right? Are there a lot of hours of manadatory things to do outside of the case based and team based learning activities? Like is shadowing a requirement? Or community service?

No beyond that, you're free to do what you want. Shadowing and community service are always optional, it just depends what you want from the medical school.

The Summer classes will be slightly different but will orient you in a way that you'll be more successful as First year Med. student.
