No Rayhan, I got the complete postcard as well and then received an interview. Good luck to you. I am going to be soooo happy when you hear some good news! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I think Drexel is lying to us. I didn't get anything in the mail. If they sent it on Tuesday, I would have gotten it already. liars liars pants on fire

No postcard here. No interview invite here. I think there's a black hole between my mailbox and every single med school out there. Except VCU.

Okay, I called the school to ask about decisions. The woman was nice. She looked up my record and said "a decision has been made. Please allow us 5 to 10 business days to get you notification of this decision. The woman who gets the letters together is here on Mondays and Wednesdays." Um, yeah. Whatever that means. Who knows if they've sent out decisions or not. Obviously they haven't sent out mine 😛

Hi,

NOT AT ALL. Do not think that. I got a postcard and later an interview invitation. And now, I am waiting for the "letter" that they claim they have sent. Getting the copleted post card simply means that your file is completed and it has, in no shape or form, anything to do with rejection.

The letter that they will send after interview however can mean anything, but it seems like no one has go that yet.

Where is my letter?!? Even if its a rejection I just want my promised letter. Like 5 other people got invites this week and they are in cali.... I am only in NC, should I call? They did promise me a letter 😕

You don't even have anything to worry about! I read in another thread that your husband goes to Drexel-- well unless you really really suck (in which case you wouldn't even have gotten an interview) you will definitely get in. No school is evil enough to split up a husband/wife, especially for medical school.

hope the letter comes soon so you can stop waiting!

Are there any cute girls @ Drexel that want to get married in the next month??

they probably sent the letters through campus mail.....which is why it's taking an abnormally long time.

lol that's what my co-worker said (we work at Drexel)

I'm not so worried. I think since my husband is a student I'm probably good. It's just that waiting is annoying 😛 I guess I'm impatient. But actually I'm more wanting y'all to hear, because I am rooting for you!!

Hey Tigress,

Congrats on Jefferson by the way! Im so excited for you. Do you know where you would go if you were faced with a Jefferson v. Drexel decision. They are both great schools so it will probably be a hard decision.

Damn, just got my card. Either it means I've been reject or I waited too long to get my LOR together 😀

IS it still possible to add drexel to amcas? Damn I am slackin.

Pardon my dumb questions, but what does that mean? What's campus mail?
I'm so anxiously waiting for Drexel to send me something!

I still haven't heard jack from Drexel. I'm beginning to think there is a black hole between the post office and my mailbox that is selectively sucking all medical school correspondence away from me. I haven't heard anything from anyone since labor day weekend (except for the MCW rejection three days ago), and I was complete everywhere by 9/1.

I'm guessing by "campus mail," it means that the letters take a while to work their way through the campus mail system before getting handed to US Post. Only a guess. I'm also anxious to get mine and I even rushed home from work and checked the mail only to find nothing but a single piece of advertisement. I'm proud to say my local grocery store is having a sale and that's what I call valuable news.

Ohh...that makes sense...Thanks!

Same here! I walked home so fast, almost got ran over by a car and a bus, but only to find a "have you seen this person?" missing person card. 🙁

I also called and I was hoping for some hint of excitement in her voice. But there was nothing. 🙄

Well, why not???

Nothing. Except my new CPR card and a craftsman sale flyer. No acceptances, interview offers, or rejections. This doesn't bode well.

I got a rejection from Drexel today too 🙁

I received my rejection in the mail from Drexel today. Never even got the complete postcard.

daaamn. sorry zahque. congrats on the albany interview at least. this really doesn't give us low GPA kids hope. but hang on we will.

another Drexel rejection... post-interview, too. honestly, i didn't think the interview went too well, so i guess i'm not terribly surprised, but still... i was hoping. 🙁

Sorry to hear that. Your credentials are better than mine, so I guess I'm also getting a rejection. Do you have other interviews?

they probably thought you wouldn't go there. your stats are REALLY high!

I admire your optimism.

for those of you who have gotten letters this week, are you from Pennsylvania? I'm in NY and I haven't gotten anything. I swear Drexel is using the pony express to deliver these letters.

I live in NYC and got my rejection letter today in the mail.

Did anyone recieve acceptance letters or waitlist? It seems everyone who just got something from Drexel recieved rejections.

Should I assume that Drexel only mailed rejections?

thanks... i appreciate that. and i've got a couple more interviews coming up, so... keeping my fingers crossed!

in which case the mail can take as long as it wants....sry to everyone else so far

Nada in the mail for me either.

I totally agree with this, osselot. Your stats are redonkulous.

Hey guys, sorry to hear about those rejections. But based on y'alls stats, you'll all get in to other schools hopefully. Good luck to you :luck:

I didn't get anything today either, but I wasn't expecting anything after speaking to the woman on the phone, who seemed to imply that my letter wasn't sent out yet.

thanks for the encouragement, guys... SDN is the best. 😍 i think two rejections this week just wigged me out.

let's all just look forward to the day we'll get to post on the Wall of Fame (and super congrats to everybody who's already there)!

I've noticed that a lot of the people who were rejected have some stellar stats...maybe drexel is looking for some mortals (people who they think will go there for sure lol)...

For all you who got rejected, I'm sure you will get into a school thats in your top 3. Save some of the schools for us (people who just want one, i repeat one acceptance🙂 )

i don't know, reading about you guys who have higher stats than me getting rejected makes me nervous. now i feel lke i'll get rejected pre-interview for sure! bumming me out.

Dont worry 🙂

im sorry to hear that. was this pre-interview?

Pre-interview. I'm a reapplicant, and I thought that raising my MCAT score 8 points would have helped, but no such luck yet! Good luck to ya! 👍

I got the complete post card and an interview invite ~ 26 days later.

Did you receive that invite via snail mail or email?

so i took the aug mcat and haven't heard jack from drexel.

i also took last year's aug mcat and this past aprils mcat... my mcat score peaked out in april and this past aug.......

and i haven't heard anything from drexel. they didnt even send me a complete postcard. i had to email them for them to tell me i was complete.

and when i keep calling their office to ask them whats going on, i can't even go through to speak to a person! they insist on emails!!!

i emailed them last monday and still, NOTHING!!!!

and by the way, drexel is known for rejecting applicants with high stats. they believe that you guys can get into better schools and plus, drexel is not numbers-oriented. just because u have high stats does not guarantee acceptance. drexel is more complete package oriented, which happens to favor the dudes who have lower grades because they ventured out to do crazy adventurous things like volunteer in ecuador.

anyway, ah!

Just stay on the line and speak to a person. You don't HAVE to press the number for asking for a status check. They are notoriously slow about getting back to emails.

As far as the second statement, I don't know about that. They certainly do look at the "complete package", but their MCAT average for the first year class is 31, and I know people with 36-40 who are at the school (and many have good GPAs as well). In the end I think it's just like any other school: their process is somewhat mysterious, and why some people get accepted and others get rejected may never be clear.

That said, I was shocked today to realize that on sdn there are people with 34s and 3.8s who got rejected from Drexel, and at least one person with a 34 and 3.7 who got interviewed at Harvard. I don't mean to name names, I just think it's interesting. All of the profiles seemed to have good ECs, too, but it's hard to tell. And who knows what else is lurking in an application, like in LORs or other things. It just means we all have to give our best effort and see what comes of it, I guess. And it re-affirms that this process really is about more than simple numbers (as important as numbers may be).
