Dang it, I haven't seen a movie in about a month and now I'm all jealous!
😛 I really wanted to see all the ones Tezzie mentioned but between school and planning the hubby's b-day, there's been zero time.
I'm a 26-year-old returning student; not looking for another degree, just my prereqs. I got my first degree in journalism and worked for several years as an editor at a large-ish daily newspaper, as well as publishing SGML documents for the military. I quit the paper last week but am still doing SGML 40 hours a week and taking 7 credit hours plus 2 hrs of lab. I am looking for someplace to volunteer on weekends because most of my volunteering has been in the news industry, and I'm not in it anymore.
I've been married to the love of my life for almost 6 years. I was planning to party hard until I hit 29.9. and then settle down, but I met him and knew that I'd never find anyone as great. And I still believe I was right!
😀 Hobbies and interests would include: Making crafts out of "found objects," especially those ubiquitous AOL CDs; reading; writing fiction and nonfiction; watercolor; tormenting others with my bass guitar; and picking one godawful reality TV show to watch each season. (Last spring it was "America's Next Top Model;" now it's "Newlyweds.")
Fav TV shows are Gilmore Girls, Alias, Reno 911, Scrubs and The Powerpuff Girls. I also like the Xbox, especially Halo and SSX Tricky. On PC, I like multiplayer 1st-person shooter games. Runtfest on Quake III Arena in particular. I swam and played basketball for three years in high school (and also was a cheerleader but not a very good one!), enjoy resistance training, swimming and street hockey, and like to pretend I'm athletic, but the truth is that I am pretty bad at all of them ('cept swimming -- I rule!). Sports I like watching would include baseball (go Cubbies!), tennis, figure skating, gymnastics, hockey and anything involving a bike or a board. I tried skateboarding once, but my mean brother said I had too much "ballast." (I have a nice brother, a mean brother, and an adorable little sister.)
I also love planning and throwing parties, going to other people's parties, going clubbing, shopping, picking out shoes, and giving and getting makeovers (except salon manicures, which freak me out). Yup, I'm a huge girlie-girl. I'm pretty anal about grades, but not to the extent that I'm psycho. In real life, I'm pretty laid back and a good listener, kid around a lot, and my friends tell me I'm hilarious. However, it's the kind of "funny" that isn't for everyone; my parents ask me if I
think I'm funny, with a disapproving glare.
