Sadly, I believe she is talking about the night I was villager and was talking to abs. I had sent one of my messenger bronzes asking her to please activate abney. Too bad it didn't happen before she was converted. Although, I guess then she would have been villager converted to wolf rather than chaos. lol

mods, how would that have worked if Midwife had actually gotten to her sooner, but still after she found FFM?

I'm talking about the "if lupin had said otherwise" that was just for this last lynch.

Exactly the same. Once kylara found one partner she was set in her affiliation (as far as chaos vs villager) it was like a race to see who got to her first

@Zensing is a creative beast!! Those were the answers the ask-a-mod (Deva) got. Lemme pull them all out and explain...
Out of all players, how many threats /enemies to the village are present at game start?
Three plot against Pern, but separate are their plans.
Two and one, both you should shun, for Weyr and Hold to stand.
How does the in-game system of tithing work?
Dragonmen will guard the skies when
Red Star shines;
Save us from the Thread-scored pain or
All will cry.

Holds provide the Weyrs with food to
Fight and fly.
Tithe for now so guarded later -
All Thread dies.
How many conversions are allowed to occur over the game?
Goals can shift like Igen's sands;
Most agendas can be swayed.
Some tempted by the evil ones,
but even evil can be saved.

Two grow dissatisfied with Pern.
One listens close to poisoned words.
The selfish one may taint one more
Or join Pern if the partner's heard.
Is one of the hostile groups Chaotic?
Does Southern have the sweetest fruits?
Does Ramoth over Benden roost?
Does Red Star let its Thread fall loose?
You know those, Lessa, find the truth.
Of the remaining wolf/wolves, are any converts?
A friendly face, but keep away.
Not all remain with Pern these days.

****, this was referring to 4 different people.
The first two - Gwen and SOV
The listening one - whoever VMH would convert
The selfish one - Abs.

Right?

I DON'T KNOW! They bandied around the idea of Abney in wolf chat (as their last of three possible conversions) and I was like "Oh gooooood it's happening again." ;___; Still not sure if @SummerTheLynx has forgiven me for Pokemon... 😉
After my moving adoption application I honestly hoped we could have converted anything. :angelic:

Did wolves answer my question? If so I missed it. Did you guys know about my night kill avoidance?
We did not know about it. We debated killing you a few times but then sort of decided that it would be more suspicious if you stayed alive for a long time. When Kam started doubting you on thread we all just kind of left it because we knew no one would 100% trust you after that.

As I thought :yeahright:

I felt very loved.

I almost don't want to know why I managed to live so long.

I think that my boisterous loudness (and wordiness) has to be distracting sometimes. So I generally always assume that I'm going to get offed in the first half of any game. That has borne out in other games so far. This is my first time living almost to the end.

I plan on reining it in a bit in my next game, whatever my role. So when I am quieter, don't assume wolfiness based on that. (Most likely, I will just fail to keep my mouth shut, yet again.)

Because you weren't a threat lol

I think this is where people get tripped up in their thinking though. You can have a lot to say, but it needs to be done in a short and to the point way. Clear ideas and thoughts played out concisely is the way to play.

You were distracting to the village, which is helpful to the wolves so they weren't going to kill you, but clear enough that the village wasn't going to lynch you 😛 Plus, the wolves had people with abilities that could hurt them to worry about.

Why didn't the game end when villagers and wolves were even?
Presumably because of my ability. Had we decided to lynch one of them, it could have been a tie, RNG could have allowed one of them to be lynched, and then the last wolf could have decided to attack me, setting us up for 2:1 lynch tomorrow. But uh...all those things were super unlikely.

Or maybe it was because Abs counted for chaos number and not for wolf numbers? I don't know. The whole chaos converted to wolf but still chaos thing is confusing.

I knew your ability. FB happened to be kind enough to tell me. 🙂

Tbh we could have gotten a great lynch train running on you if you weren't so clearly a dragon.

Plus, you were super distracting and kept randomly vouching for wolves (saying lupin trusted abs and so on), which we liked lol.

Yeah, see, that is why I was afraid to ask.

I will endeavor to be less of a tool in future games. =)

hehe. I considered for a bit trying to get you lynched for old times sake when I came back a wolf, but knew we needed the double kills if we were gonna win this thing.

And this is why we question when people claim they are 100% sure someone is villager.

BOOM.

When AM (or whoever) said "100% certain" I did a real-life eye roll.

You are NEVER EVER EVER EVER 100% certain of *ANYTHING* in this game. You might be a seer and your results from the very last night say someone is a villager, and you should STILL retain <SOME> level of skepticism. Plenty of games have mechanisms where seer results get futzed with.

This "100% certain" was one of the worst moves I've seen in a while because it totally pushed people away from the correct lynch.

I'm also a little peeved. That lynch against me was STUPID. There was nothing to suggest I was wolfy. I gave a good reason y'all should have lynched Abney - a really, really strong reason.

She would have come back Chaos, so it's unclear whether it would have led to a Lupin lynch, but it was still the right move.

So the next n00b that complains about how veteran players aren't taking their vouching seriously - this kind of stuff is why. We've seen n00bs manipulated too many times, or we've seen them over-interpret what they know (like in this case). N00bs have a habit of wayyyyyyy overvouching. It's nothing personal against the <player>, it's just experience telling us that newer players have a tendency to overplay the vouching, and it ends up screwing the villagers. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nah, two games in a row ending with the two people who I've decided are villagers being the wolves, I think I'm done trying

Eh. This game was kinda unfair, in my opinion (with all due respect to Trilt and Kcoughli, both of whom I like). I <REALLY> don't like that Abney was "pseudo-converted" similarly to how I was in a previous game. It just ... it's too unfair to villagers.

The mechanisms should make sense. If Abney is converted to a wolf, she should have revealed as a wolf upon death. In this game, though, she was going to be revealed as chaos - even though she had been converted. So even if she was lynched like I wanted, it still may not have led to a Lupin lynch (I sure would have lynched Lupin if Abney came back chaos, but I don't know if other people would have.).

Alignment should not straddle. A player should at any one time be either wolf, chaos, neutral, villager, or whatever. They shouldn't have some of each. That just makes for random gameplay where you can't really figure out what's going on.

Totally just my modding opinion. Not trying to bitch or start an argument.

I liked the retroactive tracking role in this game. Cool twist on tracking.

It's alright. I was starting to feel a little unsettled by WZ's final statement. She seemed so innocent. Now I know why.

Do I get an honorary wolf-helper award?

Take it in stride. You made n00b mistakes, including a really huge one, and sure, I'm calling you on it, but so what? We all made n00b mistakes, and we all continue to make mistakes. It's the nature of the game. Play hard, lynch without regret, and enjoy it.

I just want to add that the discussion this game was really great. Everyone did a fantastic job of rolling with (and deciphering) the tithe system, and working through a theme that I know only a few of you were familiar with. ❤

Yes. The discussion was much improved in this game over recent months. Truth!

I vouch 100% that LIS is for sure a villager in the next game

Squee! I had so much fun playing that it doesn't even really suck to lose. I mean, wolves/chaos gotta win sometimes, too!

Unfortunately, wolves win most of the time in pre-vet SDN. The balance in our games is atrocious.

And/or the villager gameplay is really bad. Not sure which factors are more relevant.

Ok, so you were fully converted to wolfdom, and therefore not chaos anymore? Or did you just gain the wolf pack's kill when they "converted" you?

@Trilt what is it with the wolf packs in your games converting your chaos players??

Trilt told me that Abney would show up as Chaos if lynched. So.... 'partly' converted.

Any so concludes the 50th game i have been chaos.

Chaos != wolf

You get rid of a wolf right away.

Chaos, it really is aok to let them be for a while to make the game funner for everyone!!

Yup, I probably should have waited on my night cancel this game, but, meh, like I had stated before there's never really a good time to cancel night so maybe the next night would've been better, maybe not, who knows.
