Hi,
I had an interviw at Duke on March.
But, I haven't heard anything from them yet.
Does anybody know what is the acceptance ratio of Duke DPT?
or what about other school?

Thanks and good luck to everybody.

70 students accepted from over 500 applicants. Soooo, about 14%!

Good luck!

Gingko,

I don't know what other school you applied to, so there could be great variability within each program. Goyo is right about Duke, though. The only other schools that I have any credible data as it relates to acceptance rates are:
Temple University: ~1500 applicants, yet ~50-52 matriculate so 3.3-3.47%
Mayo Clinic: ~600-650 applicants, yet 28-30 matriculate so 4.3-5%

A large contingent of DPT programs are competitive and follow that trend. It is also contingent on the year. Some years there are more/less applicants than others. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much all for your replies.
I am not sure how many people were selected for the interview to Duke.
If there were 150 interviewees, then 70/150? (almost half?) survived from interview?
I really want to go to Duke, and it's my only out-of-state school.😳

I know with the university of Utah, they had 500 or so apps and interviewed 110. Accepted 45.

Rocky Mountain had 400 apps, 80 interviewed and 40 accepted.

For Rocky Mountain....for those 40 that were initially accepted did all of them attend or do some choose a different school. If so they accept more than 40.

So then in Duke's case they probably accept more than 70 applicants, they just can enroll 70.

True, they accept more than 40, but only 40 accept them.. 🙂

I was actually told they accept 40 and put 20 on the wait list.

Oh, so it is possible that (on Duke's case) 70 got accepted, and ~35 on waitlist, and fill the seat if accepted people declines the acceptance.
I think it's interesting that not may people applied for DPT program.
Is there any not-so-good point about Duke DPT program? (if there is, but I hope not 🙂)

Other than cost there really isn't a downside to Duke. I got accepted in mid-January but turned it down because I could justify the extra 50k in total cost over other programs I was looking at.

From my conversations I came to understand that they accept 70 expecting a class size of 62-65. But if all 70 take the offer they just have a larger class. I am not sure how the wait list works.

I heard that Pacific University received 900 applicants, and 750 of those were complete. According to PTCAS, they take 40 students every year.

Ginkgo,
if you don't mind....could you tell me your gpa? the reason i'm asking this is because i'm planning to apply to Duke this fall...and my gpa is 3.4 overall and 3.6 pre-requisites...do you think they might accept it? because i don't know what is the minimum gpa that Duke requires

thanks!

Have any of you guys heard/know what is going on at Duke? I have heard that Cook & Hegedus left the program and some of the other faculty there are leaving...

The 4 DPT programs in AZ say they get 800 aps the last 2 years. Yikes.
