Any new news?

Actually, here is some info I got today. 104 people are currently enrolled for next year's class, which constitutes a full class. Some may drop for other acceptances if they get off a waitlist but how many, if any, spots will open up remains to be seen. Also, 7 people were initially taken off the waitlist.

Positive word of encouragement: I accepted my spot at Duke sending correspondance on May15th to all of my other schools withdrawing my application from consideration. It turns out at most of my other schools, for some reason I'm still on their acceptance list and I've had to call to follow up and withdraw myself from other schools (i.e. Yale, Michigan, Cornell etc) my feeling is that if there are around 1200 spots at the top 10 schools, there are at most 1000 students accepted to these schools because of multiple acceptances not reconciled. As of today i was still admitted at 5 schools even though I sent out my letters last monday . That being said this is all conjecture based on my situation, take it as you will.

Isn't 104 more than us? Didn't we have 101?

I think we had 102 to begin with; 101 new, 1 from the year before. Now we're back down to 100; one drop, one delaying B&D until next year.

Yeah, it seems to vary a little bit year to year. I remember the MSAR a few years ago had the class at 106 or 108, something like that. They could also mean 101 people in our class were newbies, not including the three that were originally part of c/o 2009.

That's why I think we may have been closer to 104. There were actually 3 that were originally c/o 2009.
