I'm from California. What are the pros and cons of the Duluth and Twin Cities pharmacy schools? Which has more telecasted lectures? Does the fact that Duluth is more rural affect the pharmacy experience? I didn't see a thread on it for pharmacy and need to pick one for the interview. Personally, I'd rather live in the city. Thanks!

I'm from Duluth, so maybe I can help.

Duluth program has the smaller class size, but I think more ITV lectures.
Duluth the city is much smaller than Minneapolis/St Paul, and noticeably colder.

I'm not sure how the 'rural' part fits in, most of the P1-P4s I've talked to do their IPPEs at local retail pharmacies and either of our hospitals. We're not exactly hill-folk rural - but the program does stress practicing in underserved communities.

ITV connects the two campuses, so the amount of ITV classes is equal.
Duluth is very pretty, and smaller. Minneapolis is a fairly large city. The coursework is exactly the same.

I live up there right now.

It's not rural by any means. I'd say between Duluth and Superior theres... 140k people up here or so. I had an interview at Duluth about three weeks ago and the only real difference is that you get to the classmates at your respective campus better for obvious reasons.

Plus its always fun driving across the high bridge or trying to go up 21st east after a snow storm lol

I'm biased since I live in minneapolis, but it may be easier to find a job here, during the year or over the summer. There is a greater variety of practice sites simply because it's larger. If you have any interests in research, there are more faculty in a wider variety of areas here as well.

That is very true, there used to be a nuclear pharmacy up here, but I do believe Cardinal shut that down about a year ago.

Finding a job outside of pharmacy kind of blows up here. Too many schools in too small of an area.
