Hi everybody,

Earlier this evening I was thinking about how the PharmCAS early decision deadline of August 31 will affect those of us who are taking the PCAT on August 25. PharmCAS states that they need all of are application materials by that date so I'm wondering whether they will receive our PCAT scores by then. The Psychological Corp of America says that the student will receive his/her scores in 4-6 weeks but when will PharmCAS receive them and how do the schools feel about this?

Well, how do you other early decision applicants that are taking the PCAT next month feel about this concern?

Anxiously awaiting your replies,😀

PharmCAS will receive them slightly earlier than you will, but still around 4-6 weeks. You may designate on PharmCAS that you will be taking the August PCAT and then e-submit; the PCAT section will just say something to the affect of "awaiting scores" or something when you log onto PharmCAS after e-submitting.

You really have to check with each ED school to see how they interpret the August PCAT. If they say that your application must be complete by August 31st, then that means that a PCAT score must be a part of your file on that date. But, they may wait if those PCAT scores are the only thing that's holding up the application.

i read that pharmcas will hold ur application and wont send it until everything is received, and for early decision, everything needs to be in by aug 31, if the pcat scores take a while (4-6 weeks) which is what i also read, than they will not receive everything on time and will change our application from early decision to normal... so i hope that i am wrong because i came upon the same problem... :scared:

Hey everyone,

I'm also an ED applicant and called the admissions office of the school to see if they will be accepting the August PCAT and they said yes. The woman I spoke too did not mention anything about my application being on hold by PharmCAS until the scores came in though. Your best bet then is calling the school just to make sure.

FaB🙂
