Can a person do this if they're taking the mcat in august?

I'm gonna say no on this one, especially since a number of schools have MCAT cutoffs to apply ED

BADDDD idea even if they let you. Imagine if you don't score very high, like 28 - you rarely get in for ED with weak stats, so you'll probably get rejected there, and then at that point, you won't be able to apply to other schools till October, at which point even people with good stats have very little luck. While if you applied now, you'd get most of the secondaries done by the time your MCAT scores come out, so you'd be ahead of the October submitters, and would probably get in with said 28, as long as all other aspects of the app were strong. Wouldn't do it if I were you.

As bad as I think ED is personally, applying exclusively to a program with no MCAT score is foolish. If you're MCAT is below par, you're already out of the running.

I don't know about all schools, but every school that I applied to and had an early decision program required an earlier MCAT date. (I think one had to be complete in August or something like that, so AMCAS would have to have your score by then).

thanks everyone

Don't know if its too late or if your school offers it, but look into early assurance programs.
