Easier acceptance to DO programs?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If the AOA starts approaching schools in states without medical schools (Idaho, Wyoming, Alaska, etc.), the DO degree will explode.

Only if the AOA is willing to pay for the school. Right now those states you mentioned have one sweet deal going for them. They get to send their applicants to schools such as the University of Washington for in state tuition yet they don't have to fund or worry about an entire medical school. They are able to keep well trained physicians in their states without the trouble of funding an entire University. Not only that they are sending them to one of the very best schools in the US, why would they change that deal for a new unproven medical school? Until their populations boom and they are forced to create a medical school look for these states to continue their deals with other western states instead.

Unrelated to the discussion... so carry on now.
