So I decided to do the first set of questions (up to 50) from this book, and I got about 1/3-1/2 of it wrong. I mean, I am by no means good at physics hence the reason I have a spent a lot of time reviewing it. I thought I had an 'ok' grasp on kinematics but my performace thus far clearly shows that I haven't understood the material. So for the people who have done the questions in this book, is it difficult or I am just a physics ******.

How can I improve?
I am using NOVA, along with Kaplan for review.

Thanks

I don't think the questions aren't exactly what you'll see on the mcat, so it could be that they're worded badly or testing harder content. However, missing so many means you don't have the basics down yet. Nova's really good and you could try BR physics too. Understand each question that you missed and review it in the chapter. It really depends on how much time you have. I would keep doing content review and passages. Actively read the chapters and not just skim through them.

The 1001s are good. Some of the explanations may not be that great but the questions are good to hone in on your skills and learn from common errors.

really?

physics is my worst section thus far. for the EK 1001, I do every fifth question (1,6,11,16,21...) until I get to the last question of their Lecture(usually around 101, 106), so around 20-22 problems that I do for each lecture. It worked for me because After doing this method I dramatically improved from diagnostic after taking a full length last week (from a 5 to a 10 in PS). Read and annotate the notes from every lecture first. then do at least 20 problems in the EK 1001 but no more than 30 problems. You will burn yourself out. hope this helps. happy studying.

I would agree that these are not consistent with what you will probably see on the MCAT, since MCAT questions are designed to be answered quickly, while many EK 1001 questions are designed to make you pick the equations apart. I started doing them after I read but before I do passages, and noticed a huge improvement. The books even suggest that you use them early on and then follow up with another source, implying that the whole point is content review.

I was the same, I got straight A's in physics but didn't realize until I started doing EK 1001 stuff that there were some fundamentals I was lacking in.
