Hey guys, I was just scanning over this exam and I think #132 is wrong. The book says the answer is A, but I'm pretty positive it's C. If you don't have the exam, the question asks "What is the only E2 dehydrohalogenation product for the reaction shown below?" They give you a secondary alkyl halide and methoxide, so you know (and they told you) that you'll have E2. Then the answer choices are energy diagrams. In E2, you just have one hill, and your products (alkene) is at a lower energy state, right? They have the energy going up, coming down a little bit, then up and down, like an E1 reaction.

It's ridiculous... there's a mistake. I noticed this right away. I looked at it and looked at it, and after looking at their explanation on their site, they meant to put pretty basic answers instead of those diagrams.

Don't they make you pay to see the errors?

Ya, but I did not need to look at their explicit list. First, you cannot get an answer from the choices given, and second, the explanation is worded as if it were speaking about 4 organic molecules, not E diagrams.
