Sounds good to me...

29 y.o. F PGY II who lives 45 minutes from aformentioned beach, and desperately needs a spa day. I have 3 big dogs, keep saltwater fish, and hate running but I do it anyway.

errr.....umm, I forgot to add this important part of the girls' spa day adventures: a hot cabana boy (or 3)....!!

:D :D

I was thinking that we could take this opportunity to introduce ourselves - newbies and oldies.

Hi, my name is JMC and I like long walks on the beach and romantic, candlelight dinners.

I'm pretty sure that roja is all set in the cabana boy department, but I could sure use one!

I've updated the list with everyone who sounded off on this thread but didn't add their name. Let me know if anything is incorrect .

I've updated the list with everyone who sounded off on this thread but didn't add their name. Let me know if anything is incorrect (I think that mikecwru is a resident).

Well, I sounded off (sort of) but didn't give any info!

More importantly, mikecwru is now an academic attending.

Oh, and, Homunculus is a peds resident.

Feel kinda silly doing this but...
I am 24 yo f ms4. Just started my first elective in America after 3 y of school in Israel and I really do feel like a foreigner here in many ways. I'm stressing out over how little work I've done on ERAS so far. Reading all the other ms4s here posting that they are done makes me kinda nervous but instead of doing something about it I'm wasting time here... smart, right?

I'm definetly down with the ladies spa trip if spots are still available...

31 year old EM-2 at active duty program in San Antonio, Texas. Captain, USAF. 5 years 10 months to getting out and enjoying a real salary. Married almost 9 years and father to 2 girls, 8 and 5. c/o fits of anger, sob and HI when system abused by healthy 18 yo basic trainees who want out of the military and roll in every day with complaints of SI, syncope, vomiting x1 or 3 episodes diarrhea.

Hello everyone.
*shakes hands*

I'm 27. Married, no kids. One cat, two dogs.
I'm a premed and EMT. I'm also a good cook and am usually covered in scrapes and bruises due to my active and not-always-so-smart extracurricular activities.
I work full time while being a full time student.

40 yo (that’s right FORTY) male 2nd year medical student and an RN that currently works Saturdays in the local ER and loves it! I was/am an RN and a computer programmer (C#, SQL, web junk) in my former life. I left nursing in the mid 90’s only to return when I decided to go to med school. I am looking forward to getting into the hospital and starting my clerkship – I am at the end of my rope for the never ending lecture…..

I’m Amy’s Dad. 36 yoa PGY1 in the Detroit area, osteopath program. Ten years as firefighter-Paramedic and 5 years part-time RN flight nurse. I dropped out of highschool..in Vegas and partied like a rock star, I don’t know how the medical gig happened. I’m more lucky then good.

John

M4 38 M married with two ankle-biters. Applying far and wide. Medic for 12 years before med skool. One Labrador. Two Subarus. Yep.

Just to keep up the run of Paramedics/RNs...

I'm an MS-IV, also a Paramedic and a former ED RN, in my 30's and married.

Looking forward to be back in the ED again!

I swear I'm the only unmarried one on here!!!

SolisR up!

33 YOM MS-III. Ohio University student (Osteopathic program) now in NE Ohio for my clinical years.

Worked fourteen years as a paramedic on the truck and in the ED in Alabama.

Married with children.

I have an accent. No, not a southern one.

I drive a jeep.

Me likes Sinns, Striders, Rotrings, HKs and walks on the beach.

Oh, and Cohibas and single malt scotch.

Not a politically correct guy.

Favorite quote: "I wasn't born in the south, but I got here as fast as I could"

Ric

It's ok. You're also the shortest. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

You trying to start something?

Believe it or not - I'm actually not the shortest in my med school class. I'm not even the 2nd shortest in my med school class!

Favorite quote: "I wasn't born in the south, but I got here as fast as I could"

That's one of mine, too!

The other is:
"I'm a Tarheel born and a Tarheel bred, and when I die I'll be tarheel dead!"

I'm not ACTUALLY Tarheel born, but I am Tarheel bred :).

28 yo MWM, newly minted chief res. Spending too much time at work and not enough running and biking with my wife and dogs. Looking for jobs now, which is more fun than applying to residency ;)

newly minted....does that mean we can hit on you now???

I swear I'm the only unmarried one on here!!!

Nah, I'm not and don't plan to for a while. Down here in the south all the girls tend to get married early, so I'm going to have to wait until I can move somewhere else.

I put it off long enough,,, 25 y/o MS IV LECOM Married F with a BEAUTIFUL new baby boy! STRUGGLING with match anxiety but chomping at the bit to get started in EM! I wouldn't wish harm on anyone but if something horrific has to happen to someone I want to be there!! Isn't that sick??:D

perrin and socute are makin me laugh... i am tarheel born and tarheel bred as well, and i guess i'm one of the few single too! people do marry early in the south, so here i am in chicago. whole different bag of tricks...

How about people start posting their School, Program, or Hospital that they are associated with next to their names in bold... That way we'll have a pretty comprehensive list if people want to ask directed questions about programs, schools or hospitals in the future...

Mine as well give in and finally add my name as a lurker. Non-trad pre-med here either doing Peds (if I feel like 6 years of residency/fellowship) or ER.

lurker here...30 yo F, starting med school in 4 months!!! From Rochester, NY (love garbage plates and red hots). In my former lives i was a 911 telecommunicator, EMT-B, pharmacy technician, medical assistant, bartender to the stars, and 5 year starter as safety for a women's pro football team!!! GO EMPIRE STATE!!!! B.A. in psychology with a minor in traveling. Can't wait to start school and one day become a great ER doc!!

perrin and socute are makin me laugh... i am tarheel born and tarheel bred as well, and i guess i'm one of the few single too! people do marry early in the south, so here i am in chicago. whole different bag of tricks...

Yeah, people get married a lot later outside of the South.

The South also has the highest divorce rate.

Interesting.

28 yo male 4th year med student living in the midwest and getting ready for the interview season. I don't post much, but I have read most of the threads on this forum for the past 3-4 years. I speak Spanish and have an interest in international medicine.

Believe it or not - I'm actually not the shortest in my med school class. I'm not even the 2nd shortest in my med school class!

That's lovely. But the fact that you know what rank you are of the short people in your class says a lot :D

S'all good :). I, unlike many shorties, have no actual issues with being short :). Having been in sports where being short=advantage, I came to respect and even love my shortness!

I'm simply jerking your chain.

It sucks when a shorty speed dribbles around us talk folks in basketball :(

Thankfully, Florida doesn't count as part of the south. So I can go there, club me a wife, and drag her back to ma' cave.
