Remember that there are multiple right hand rules. When it comes to understanding Magnetic Force = yes, the palm is pointing in that direction. If you are interested in the force on a electron, you can still use the right hand, just reverse the magnetic force direction. Left -- > Right, Up --> Down, Into page --> Out of page. Or you can use the left hand with the same idea but no reversing the forces.
Another huge right hand rule is understanding the rotation of the magnetic forces when a current is accelerated in a wire. This requires the 👍 (clinched fist with thumps pointed out). This time, point the thumb in the direction of the current, and "grab" on the wire much like 👍. How ever the rest of your fingertips are pointed, that indicates whether it is clock wise or counter clock wise. Play with your hands, and you'll get it figured it out. Example, if the current of the wire is pointing say from your computer screen to your eye. Make a 👍 and point the thumb to your eyes. You'll notice the rest of your finger tips are pointing (curled) in a counter clock wise motion, therefore that is the direction of the magnetic force.
Hope that helps, and someone above has sort of explained the standard right hand rule, if you need more help check out the links or you can PM me. GL with the studies, as I am in the midst of it also.
