Emory v. Mt. Sinai

Any thoughts? I'm concerned about Mt. Sinai's financial troubles, though apparently they shouldn't affect the school except for tuition increases. Thanks for your help.

I would pick Sinai too....I guess if you want to do residency in the northeast, sinai is prolly the better choice. C'mon, it's NYC! 🙂

Plus, not to knock the school as its a great program, but I personally have a lot of friends at Emory Med who really dont like it there. There are some wonderful resources in the area, like Grady, CDC, American Cancer Society, but my friends who go there now say they generally find the students too uptight, and the first two years are taught will little perspective on clinical practice (again, this just heresay, and this might be due to some of them getting fed up with 8 plus years of Emory). Mt Sinai is also in NYC, which for me at leas would be a big plus (I love ATL too, but the traffic is starting to drive me INSANE!!!).

wow, i can't believe everyone is so strongly in favor of mt. sinai. the proximity to cdc would make it really hard for me to turn down emory. plus, i don't like nyc too much. i should say i haven't visited either of the schools, so don't let this post carry too much weight.
