I talked to two professors roughly two months ago who agreed to write my letters of recommendation. After talking to them twice before, they still haven't written it. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to e-mail them again out of fear of sounding rude. I could drive down to their offices, but I'm not sure if that'd be any different. Any ideas?

you could drop off a thank you card with a little something (I usually include a gourmet chocolate bar). That way they are reminded of their obligation but you aren't nagging them.

I think the above post is a great idea. Another thing you can do is to email or call them and ask if they've had any opportunity to work on your letter, or if they need any additional information from you. You can also send them a thank you note or email, and remind them of the deadline again.
