You can appeal the designation with the application services by sending in course descriptions and asking that the designation be changed. Alternatively, you could contact med schools directly and make the case that you've fulfilled the requirement. I've seen Intensive Business Writing and Science Writing be approved for the English requirement despite a different department prefix.
